Pedulla believes Allegri ‘should resign’ after summer signings: “Milan make the mercato”

This morning, Alfredo Pedulla has made a scathing call to AC Milan after a summer where Massimiliano Allegri has been left dreaming.

In an ideal world, a manager would get the targets which he desires, within limits, of course. However, for Milan this summer, there has been a general overlooking of certain ideas, which have led to quite a few questions.

They are not new fears, though. Instead, it is a repeat of old fears that the mercato is managed by the management, not by the manager or even the sporting director, Igli Tare.

Less than ideal

For example, Allegri wanted to bring Adrien Rabiot and Dusan Vlahovic. However, as things stand, neither are going to join the Rossoneri this summer. Instead, Allegri will have other ideas available to him.

Pedulla, then, this morning has reviewed the mercato, and as you may expect, his words with Sportitalia are far from positive, as MilanNews relays.

“When we talk about Rabiot, about Vlahovic, about the coach’s requests, they are not compatible with the club’s ideas. The club’s ideas are different. So if AC Milan had wanted Vlahovic, they would have taken him. If AC Milan has a budget of €30-35 million, Vlahovic will take him for €20m.

“The contract issue, in my opinion, is a problem that doesn’t exist, and so I think, what? Now the narrative says that Vlahovic closed the door when Vlahovic has always spoken to Allegri, and rightly so, he will get tired on August 28th.”

“This morning Milan made an attempt for Fabbian, it’s true, because if you want to get Rabiot, you have to spend €6 million, take on commissions and understand when he wants to leave. You have to start a negotiation that is long and does not correspond to the target that Milan has in mind.

“Milan wants to make the transfer market, regardless, we have to say it, I say it, I take responsibility: Milan makes the transfer market regardless of the coach and the sporting director. Allegri doesn’t decide, because if you collect another €25 million for Chukwueze and another €25 million for Musah, that’s another €50m. You collected €70m for Reijnders, €m40 for Thiaw, and the coach says to you: ‘Can you use €25m for Vlahovic? €20m and another €15m for Rabiot, solving the contract problem?

“I’m saying something very strong, which is personal. For me, a coach who suffers these things should resign.

“I say this with great respect for Allegri, for the prestigious career he’s had. But how can you accept something like this? But if I’m the coach and I see four different attacking profiles, I talk to the sporting director, and the committee brings me different things, I can’t stand it anymore.

“Because in the end, they’ll present the bill to him. But do you want to bring in the guy who asked you to be the coach or not? Do you think this can be Milan? I don’t think so.”

  1. Anyone hear anything about the stadium project? Because I am waiting for that so Redturd begins looking for buyers and finally leaves the club. Since the took over it has been spiraling downwards, even the “vulture” fund Elliott managed a football club better.

    1. Elliott didn’t do sht. Gazidis, Boban, Maldini and Massara managed the club at the time. Elliott is still in charge through Furlani who is Gordon Singer’s little pet. It’ll remain like this until redbird has repaid the loan. It’s going bad since the previous management has been fired while arrogant clowns thought they could manage a football club without any football connection.

        1. Elliott appointed Gazidis. Gazidis appointed Maldini and Massara. Then Elliott replaced Gazidis with Furlani and we know the story. « We don’t need Maldini anymore », as Scaroni said. Yeah it’s going so great ever since.

      1. It is useless change red bird as long as elliot still in ACM, elliot are true owner in this club. Furlani have final decision for all financial in ACM including transfer fee and salary . Furlani are undercover agent from elliot to make sure RB fail pay their debt. Elliot will replace RB with chinese or american , remember yong hong li also elliot victim from debt and soon RB will have same fate like yong hong li. Elliot also rejected oil kingdom buyer because they dont want take debt from elliot. It is elliot sacked boban due to boban asked more transparancy, replace gazidiz with furlani and then furlani sacked paolo maldini

  2. This is all Hyperbole from Pedulla. but, if indeed Allegri does not get what he asks for and if the new signings do not perform and Milan start underperforming, I wouldn’t be surprised if Allegri will start publicly critizing the management and he gets sacked mid season. Let’s hope that’s not the case!

    1. It could be a blessing in disguise and maybe Furlani would get the boot if results go bad and Milan misses out on CL again. But I really hope it doesn’t happen, Milan needs to be in CL.

  3. Pedulla should buy Milan. When you buy Rabiot for 15m , how much will you sell him.
For Vlahovic is not ready to reduce is salary, so we should pay him that the same salary. That’s what took him to Juventus when Milan wanted to buy him from florentina.

  4. Lots of questions about this

I am not surprised about Allegri’s requests. We know him and this is hardly surprising, so the question goes to Milan’s management: why hire Allegri when you are going to decide signings without his input? Everybody knows they like useless old shEEt like Rabiot.

About Vlahovic, let’s say as it is: the guy is entering his final year of contract earning 12m net (22-24m in real world) and Juventus wants 15m for taking their problem? lol…. Dusan performance the last two years does not even deserve a 4m salary…

    1. Which performance, how many goals did he score? And Rabiot, sh*t? With 40 goal contributions from CM in the past 3 years? Can you name 3 more players that did that in top leagues? If you don’t like someone, I don’t care, but don’t lie about stats or performance. Vlahovic played quite good, almost a goal contribution per 90 minutes in both of last season. What is that bad?

  5. Allegri kebanyakan mau nya.

  6. I don´t believe we promised Vlahovic or Rabiot to Allegri when he signed the contract. It´s pretty clear what the financial rules are at Milan and any player that needs to break those rules is not welcome. The 6 mil salary cap isn´t here since yesterday. That means 6 mil and not 6 mil + bonuses or signing fees. Neither Vlahovic or Rabiot can be signed by those rules so Allegri should have known from the start that those 2 weren´t coming. If Vlahovic and Rabiot are the only 2 names that Allegri can come up with, well then it´s kind of logic that the club does the transfers by itself. But I don´t think this is the case. I think Allegri asked for certain player profiles and the club are trying to being these but only with players that can be signed by the rules that were already known.

      1. Talking about new contracts. Leao had his exception before the wage cap was definitely introduced. As far as I know, we’re not signing new players that want to earn over 6 mil.

  7. Who is this guy, what does he do and how is this important to be on sempre milan site? He is saying this after 1 game or even 2 or 3?!

Don’t you guys have something better to write for. Call Allegri and Tare and speak to them, see what they tell you. Anything is better then this Petulla guy

  8. Yes Allegri should do us all a favor and resign
Playing RLC and Fofana after signing Ricci and Jashari is unforgivable

    1. Tare: “sorry allegri. Management can not give you your tall dream signing rabiot. We already gave you 3 midgets for midfielder. Ricci, modric, jashari.”

    2. Exactly capcelotti. I blamed Allegri for taking Modric off and left Fofana and RLC on the field when we all clearly saw they weren’t contributing.
People don’t want to blame Allegri for that defeat because he’s Italian

  9. 😀 so what I said earlier today is starting to pick up, If they actually isn’t buying any of the players Allegri is calling for and instead buys something completely different I certainly wouldn’t blame him if he did resign.

  10. Are these two the ‘change makers’ we need? These two are pain in the necks for their respective clubs, so, any club dealing with them has to tread carefully. Some journalists get kickbacks for selling crap players. Vlahovic isn’t a bad option, but, he’s not a fantastic one. And, with what he earns, he’s too expensive, considering what he offers. Allegri is oldschool, but, change is the law of life. If Vlahovic comes, no problem, but, he’s not the only player in the world. Pedulla has been making a case for him for weeks, we know, but, we don’t need this lecturing on what our coach should do because he didn’t get all the players he asked for.

  11. I feel ashamed to support such club. Not the colors not the history, but the people there who leads and separate Milan. I really hope we can go to CL at least. Allegri may not be playing the most attractive football but he play for results but he isn’t magician either. I would definitely be pissed off if I was him. Whether we like or not if coach asks people who he thinks that fit into his system should be bought. Look Lukaku, people questioned the decision but he did everything for Conte. Football is all about desire and readiness to fight, and you fight for people not for names, it is easy to say we are AC Milan, in reality we are just a team that win Seria A two times in last 15 years and new fans don’t even remember last champions league, we are average team if not carrying a name of AC Milan. Except few in the team, nobody saw how was real Milan back in time, they can’t play for this name if they really don’t feel it. All they can do in that stage is run, do best for person that trust them , that’s why it is important to give coach what he wants maybe they run for him to pay his trust back. Buy the man what he want otherwise don’t cry when he doesn’t succeed. Don’t forget he fails as the most winner of Seria A, it only shows how crap team we are turned to be with crap management, so we can’t blame him. Give the man who he wants. I suspect this summer is part of escape plan to sell more to take as much as possible before the selling club. They needed Tare (experienced manager) as salesman.

    1. You seem to forget rather quickly. Fonseca got the players he wanted, such as emerson. Sergio got his favorite portuguese flop with Felix and got walker and santi. How many of those have worked??? Just because they throw out a name doesn’t mean you automatically sign them. Rabiot is an awful idea, and vlaho is being forced out of juve for a reason a little common sense goes a long way

  12. None of this is a revelation. This was always Furlani’s plan – to invest in profitable “flips” and register capital gains on players. But now you put up Tare and Max as frontmen/scapegoats in case sh*t goes sour.

They were never going to change their strategy. Give a little bit of room to Tare to make him feel some control, but largely control the market and expenditures, needing Furlani’s signature on purchases anyway.

I’m sure both Tare and Max knew what they were getting into if they followed Milan at all.

  13. Milan management knows too well that buying those two and allegri getting fired after half the season will be a financial burden for the club because no one would like to buy in the next transfer market and next coach after allegri will likely put Rabiot on the bench. Rabiot is even worse than fofana or Loftus cheek.
