Igli Tare was expected to help AC Milan going forwards, but the Albanian has already got some doubters after some pre-match comments.

Milan did not do this with Ardon Jashari; Igli Tare and Paolo Scaroni both made comments to the media about Jashari’s desire to join. Eventually, he did, but it looks poor from the outside, giving an unprofessional feel to things. It helped, but it doesn’t reflect well.

Now, Tare has again done some damage with the media, it seems, showing Gimenez the door effectively, with all the eyes already on the Mexican. It just isn’t a good look, and Alfredo Pedulla criticised the sporting director for his choices to Sportitalia, via MilanNews.
“With any intellectual honesty, he made some statements that I found horrible. Gimenez would have played five minutes later, and also out of respect for the boy who goes on the pitch. He says, ‘We want a swap with Dovbyk.’ If you turn 10 meters away, your starting centre forward is just about to take the field.
“So, for me, it’s something I honestly can’t understand, even with regards to a professional you spent—maybe Tare wasn’t there—32 million. The swap is a difficult one. Milan wants him, but I don’t think Gimenez is willing, and then you also have to go through the will of the whole Roma team. Milan wants to take Dovbyk.
“He denied the idea that it could be anything more than a swap, so he’s put things in order from this point of view. But now I’d like to be in Gimenez’s shoes, who was completely dumped by Milan, so I think you have to get another striker. I believe in the trust that Milan already had in him, which was already evident at the very least. Gimenez, now we are below zero.”
regardless of what we all think of Gimenez at this point, the comment was stupid. Whatever goes on in the back rooms must stay in the back rooms until it is official. You must back your players in all official channels 100%. This was unprofessional in my honest opinion. With that being said, we need a lot more from Santi. Right now it’s not good enough.

Tare is obviously lost. He is 2 levels above his actual grade, he isn’t fit for clubs of Milan stature. Torino, Lazio, that is it, he overreached and it shows. I was actually for him being appointed but I have never been more wrong in my life.

I for one, am happy the pampering days of Maldini are gone. When someone is not performing he should be called out for it. And for some players, a kick in the behind is just what they need.
But what Tare says is pretty much insignificant. We judge him for his actions, and this should be determined at the end of the window. So far, he’s failed with the number one target he had, and that’s to bring a big strong CF. I think Nkuku can be a great addition, but he’s definitely not that.
Oh? Who was not performing during the days of Maldini? So glad those days are gone yeah, it was really horrible to win a Scudetto and become a strong European team again. Don’t worry about your nightmares, it’s gone man. The budget is clean and there is so much capital gain now 🙂

He might be trying to stir Gimenez up to create a sense of extra urgency and push his buttons to motivate him, go at his sense of pride. I don’t agree with that being done, especially publicly. The kid barely played 6 months and came into a mess of a team which Tare did nothing to stabilize this year. He put priority positions in the background for some we had depth in and pushed late for the ones we needed to increase the competitive level of all our departments.
Then, when you want to make a swap, should the other club be interested, then you are basically saying you rather have their player than theirs, hence devaluing your own asset. It puts you in a bad position for negotiating as it pushes you in a corner. We like your player and feel he can suit our needs and our player will be as good for you, isn’t the message conveyed. So the other team asks themselves, if tgey are willing to publicly say this about their player, why would we even want him?
Poor decision on all fronts.

Negotiations aren’t handled through press conferences. Milan and Rome have been discussing this thing, in some form or other, for quite a while now. That’s where “the message” gets sent, in boring long meetings between intermidates.

They went for a kid and compromised his preparation for the season, his career with us potentially by making him have to come back from behind, our reputation, goodwill with his previous club. Spent a large amount we could have offered up front to prevent the whole debacle, we had the money to spend. He ends up out for the year considering he only comes in halfway in a season that will be going full swing. He made very questionable moves imo when it wasn’t necessary.
Yes, this is why everyone should have been mad. And saved 1M€ in the process. Of course it wasn’t written that it will happen but it was always a risk. I kind of like the fact that Tare is so transparent. Better to be honest. And its not Tare fault for the late transfers, he said Alegri changed the formation after 3 months. So now Tare needs to find players that will suit the new formation in a week. I guess the original planned formation was 4-3-3.
Allegri said it exactly, that he changes the formation based on the quality of players. Meaning he has no players for his desired formation since someone didn’t bring them in?

Just look at how Fonseca was fired, and so many other cheap, nasty moves.
