Pedulla: Maldini to leave Milan imminently on first market mission – three targets highlighted

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan technical director Paolo Maldini is set to depart imminently on his first mercato mission of the summer, a report claims.

The Rossoneri are expected to be active in the upcoming transfer window as Maldini and sporting director Ricky Massara look to give head coach Stefano Pioli a few pieces to complete the core of the squad that he has built.

According to Alfredo Pedulla, Maldini will leave Milan in the next few days – perhaps even on Tuesday – to begin his first mission.

The report adds how the Milan market is now live, and that there are some prominent names emerging regarding potential targets such as Serge Aurier of Tottenham and Denzel Dumfries of PSV Eindhoven.

Benfica midfielder Florentino Luis is also mentioned as a potential target having been linked strongly in January, while the fact that Maldini is moving now means that Milan wants to get to the heart of the market and perhaps even beat the competition.

Pedulla adds that Fiorentina have a strong interest in Lucas Paqueta and the operation could include Nikola Milenkovic if the defender does not renew the contract with La Viola.

On Gianluigi Donnarumma’s renewal, Mino Raiola is apparently waiting for the right moment to make requests, but there is optimism.
