AC Milan are weighing up the signing of Napoli defender Elseid Hysaj on a free transfer, according to a report from one journalist.
Alfredo Pedulla (via MilanNews) reports that Hysaj remains a prominent name in the orbit of the Milan market, and the request of the Albanian full-back is €3million net per season, but a deal can be closed for €2.5m plus bonuses.
Pedulla adds that Milan prefer to go to a reliable free transfer that look at other more expensive options, considering Manchester United’s request for Diogo Dalot is no less than €20m, which is deemed to be excessive given the inconsistent nature of his performances.
It seems as though Milan are looking to wait until they have definitely qualified for the Champions League before accelerating any pursuit of Hysaj, but the report does not exclude the possibility that it could all be finalised in a shorter space of time.
