Pedulla: Milan now battling Dortmund and Chelsea in race for €40m-rated Italy winger

AC Milan face two major obstacles in their pursuit of Sassuolo winger Domenico Berardi, according to a report.

The Rossoneri are in the market for a new winger with different characteristics to Alexis Saelemaekers – namely one that is more of a direct goal threat – and after a season with 17 goals and 8 assists for Sassuolo, there is arguably no better target than Berardi.

Journalist Alfredo Pedulla reported that farewell of Berardi in the upcoming summer mercato is probable, under the right conditions. There have been some enquiries from teams in the Premier League as per the journalist, but he adds to ‘watch out’ for two possible Italian teams in Lazio and Milan.

According to the latest from the same source, Sassuolo are asking for €40m for the 26-year-old, adding that Lazio and Milan remain keen. As if the asking price wasn’t enough, in the last few hours there have been expressions of interest from Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund.

The Blues tried for Federico Chiesa who is considered non-transferable by Juventus, so they have fallen on Berardi, while Dortmund have put him on a list of three or four names to replace Jadon Sancho.
