When AC Milan started the season with a defeat to Cremonese, many will have thought the worst about the season. However, it may have been a blessing.
It seemed Milan were in for another of those seasons when they restarted their Serie A action with an opening day defeat at San Siro.

For many, it was a flashback to last year, a season many had wished to leave behind, and perhaps thought they had. However, what has followed since shows a different trend.
Cremonese was a blessing?
Whilst the issues against lower-positioned teams still exist, the Rossoneri have not lost to anyone in Serie A, higher or below them. That is a fantastic record for a team who finished eighth last season, let alone a team who were beaten at home by a newly promoted side.
For Alfredo Pedulla, in fact, that game was a blessing for the Diavolo, and he stated his reasoning on his YouTube channel, via MilanNews.
“Milan were sparkling, they played an extraordinary first half and it doesn’t seem right to me to say that Bologna wasn’t the real Bologna.
“Milan went to trample on the limits of Bologna, he [Rabiot] amplified them, he played an incredible game especially in the first half because you understand certain things right away, especially when ready Milan creates a goal ball, then another, he doesn’t stop, he finds the goal, he insists, he doesn’t take shots on goal, he plays as a team.
“We have to say it for honesty, today Adrien Rabiot is the midfielder with absolute added value, for what he does, for how he does it, for how he spurs his teammates, because he carries them on his shoulders, because he has an above-average personality, it’s a value.
“Also added for Modric and transmits adrenaline to the other 9 who go on the field. So Milan had the merit of not understanding moments of relaxation even in the second half. Milan’s only defeat in August with Cremonese was a football blessing.”
When Allegri won that scudetto with us, we lost the first opening game in that season too. 2011/12 was it?
I don’t know if we will win the Scudetto this year, but the mentality and everything is night and day different compared to last season.
No 10/11 was the year of our previous Scudetto as 11/12 season was the year when Muntaris goal didn’t count and Juventus came back in the fight and won their first scudetto since getting promoted back to Serie A.
When we play up to our best I believe we can win it but it depends a lot on that we can muster a reasonable amount of consecutive wins and then beat Inter. That and injuries will have an impact. Inter are definitely favorites but its also far from impossible as things can fairly quickly change.

My gut feel tells me they have peaked a bit early and when their steam runs out I hope we are ready to capitalize.
I feel exactly the same way too. They will run out of steam at the most important time of the season and fortune will smile on us to capitalize on the situation and coast to the second star
