Pellegatti claims Berlusconi would’ve brought Mbappe to new San Siro: “His heart beats for Milan”

Kylian Mbappe is an AC Milan fan. It’s no secret; there are pictures of him as a child in the famous stripes and he admitted it again this week.

If you asked Milan fans about a dream signing, a fair few would say Mbappe. Of course, Sandro Tonali sits on a pedestal as the future captain of the club when he returns to San Siro – for most it’s a when, not if.

However, the Frenchman would be a close second. A fan of the club, the striker is of the ilk of many names of the past. An immortal who has represented the biggest clubs and won the biggest trophies, but hasn’t yet played for the Milanese giants.

He’s the exact signing that the Rossoneri used to make; who’s to say that he can’t be a signing that the club still makes at some point, like we’ve seen with Luka Modric.

Mbappe to Milan?

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Carlo Pellegatti spoke about the possibility of Mbappe joining Milan in the future and the possibility of him being a signing for the new San Siro, as MilanNews relays.

“Mbappé is a huge AC Milan fan. I read yesterday that he would take his cell phone and throw it on the floor when AC Milan weren’t winning. He was a huge AC Milan fan. I imagined what a gift our president could have given us, perhaps on the day of the inauguration of San Siro, in four or five years.

“He would certainly have given us an Mbappé. An Mbappé will be out of contract in five years and perhaps won’t have the demands of a stratospheric salary. Mbappé’s heart beats for the Rossoneri.

“I imagined Silvio Berlusconi giving us… I’m not talking about Kaká-type players, who were obviously bought, but players like Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, Balotelli, Ibrahimovic, Roberto Baggio, or David Beckham.

“Those opportunities that seemed impossible for AC Milan, not just for financial reasons, but for practical reasons. And yet he gave us these opportunities that, to me, seemed impossible to play for AC Milan.

“Paolo Taveggia tells us in the book that when the president spoke to us about impossible things, we looked at each other; then he was so compelling that he made those impossible things possible. I really miss this way of seizing opportunities, this way of approaching players, convincing them, finding these impossible players who became possible.

“There are so many things I regret about that presidency, about the work of Adriano Galliani and the entire AC Milan staff.”

  1. yeah and FFP doesnt exist, FIGC would’ve let Milan do whatever they want obviously

Pellegatti will love PSG, go support them

  2. Rivaldo was also something big. Big signings like Rui costa, Cafu, Nesta, Seedorf, Inzaghi and the loan deal for Crespo. People in charge new how to make it possible. It was great times as a fan under Berlusconi.

    1. Rivaldo was a free transfer, Cafu was a free transfer, we swopped Seedorf for Francesco Coco, out of the guys you mentioned we only paid money for Inzaghi. FFP didn’t exist when Berlusconi was running the club, he also had his own media company and was dealing directly with broadcasters around the world to broadcast Milan games. The club itself has its own TV deals outside of that of Serie A, that was brought to an end though through meddling by the FIGC.

      1. We only paid for Inzaghi? Are you kidding right now? We paid for
MRC and Nesta as well, those were enormous transfers, colossal.

  3. With the Azzurri consistently not qualifying for the world cup and British pundits bad mouthing Serie A at every opportunity they get it’s going to be pretty damn hard to restore a proper TV deal in order for clubs to be bringing in the type of money to make that possible, we’ve done pretty damn well on the sponsorship front though and it has put us in the green already, but it would take a lot more than just sponsors, we need the stadium and a better TV deal. All the events at Tottenham stadium is one of the reasons why they can afford to spend as they are.

  4. Mbappe is a serial loser. Lost with PSG, then they win the Champions league TWICE without him. Now real Madrid havent won with him. France hasn’t won with him. His net effect on a team is negative.

    1. To be fair, he was on France’s 2018 team that won the WC. I always thought the key to France winning was when they put Giroud in as the #9. He just made that team click offensively.

  5. Pellegati needs to realize we’re no longer in the Berlusconi era. Gone are the days when we were bankrolled by a rich owner and no financial regulations. And it doesn’t do us any good with those sorts of comparisons
