‘Would have liked Saelemaekers’ – Pellegatti confirms Fonseca ‘very strongly’ wants Abraham

Carlo Pellegatti has confirmed the news doing the rounds claiming that AC Milan want Tammy Abraham, with the coach Paulo Fonseca pushing for him.

In a segment on Radio Rossonera, Pellegatti stated that Abraham is ‘a player that Fonseca wants very strongly’ because he ‘likes his characteristics, how he plays and how he moves’. The unknown is his physical condition, but Milan have confirmed to him that they will work on that aspect.

The Englishman is ‘a name that should be taken into great consideration’ as per the journalist, but just like the Youssouf Fofana situation there is ‘a big gap between what the clubs want for the two players and Milan’s offers’.

Milan will continue negotiate over Emerson Royal, then ‘calmly’ they will turn their attentions to Fofana and Abraham. Pellegatti admits he has ‘no idea about the formula’ for Abraham, but adds that Luka Jovic could have been a counterpart however Roma are not keen on him.

“I know for sure that Roma would have liked Alexis Saelemaekers, who if 15 days ago was on the market, now is no longer. Physical problems are always a bit of a question mark [for Abraham], but if Fonseca wants him and Milan takes him into consideration they will have also calculated it,” he concludes.
