Pellegatti hits back at media narrative as ‘we can only rely on Allegri and Tare’

Massimiliano Allegri has been heavily criticised for his decision to switch formations for Milan-Udinese, but Carlo Pellegatti has hit back at this wave of discontent.

Milan suffered a 0-3 defeat against Udinese on their home turf last night. The scoreline tells you all you need to know about the game, so without going to deep into the performance, it’s clear that the Rossoneri’s season finale could be a difficult one.

Allegri was heavily criticised for his formation change in the papers this morning, and the criticism is only expected to continue in the next week or so. In response to that, the well-known Milan journalist Carlo Pellegatti published a video defending the manager.

“Everyone said: Enough with Allegri’s 3-5-2, flat, unentertaining, unspectacular matches: we want a show, we are Milan.

“Yes, we are Milan, but the average calibre of this squad means it’s not a great Milan. Allegri understood this when he repeatedly told us he knew the team’s limitations.

“Knowing them, he always went ahead with his 3-5-2, and despite practically never having had any attackers, either due to quality or injuries, he managed to get to second place.

“Today [last night], the structural limitations of this team were highlighted. Meanwhile, the media offers a wonderful array of critics and commentators. It will be their week against Allegri and against Milan.

“Those who follow me must understand that we can only rely on Allegri because at Milan, there is only Allegri and Tare. For the rest, in difficult situations, there is no one.

“If Allegri, his players, and Tare can get us out of this situation, great. If they can’t, these will be tough and difficult weeks. We put our trust in Allegri and hope he won’t be tempted into any more adventures,” he stated.

Pellegatti is certainly right, especially since all of us have pointed out the flaws of this squad. On the other hand, the fact that Allegri fell into the trap of switching formations (to appease the fans?) can still be criticised, as can the decision to start Rafael Leao as the centre-forward.

  1. Tare got Milan in this situation with one of the shi**est transfer windows in history. That came after one of the shi**est transfer windows in history, last season. Fing Inter has 5 strikers that would start in the Milan first 11. Furlani/Tare/Moncada couldn’t buy a single one. I can’t wait to see those 3 useless clowns out of a club like Milan. That is Cesena level staff…

  2. Grandpa relax our squad is the best in serie a but we don’t have couch to manage man united used to have same problem before Carrick we need better couch we can’t hide the truth alegri failed to do his job

      1. Only inter and roma got better left backs other than that milan are the best in serie a our center backs are equal to juve inter and Napoli our midfield are superior to juve inter and Napoli our attack are equal to juve inter and Napoli just alegri failed to manage our squad

        1. You’re mentally impaired if you think that. All 5 Inter strikers would start at Milan. Center backs, Milan has worse than all of the top teams. Not a single team has worse central defenders than Milan, proved yesterday and last season. One of the most stupid things I have ever read.

          1. Max Mr Cryer, lb and rb it’s for sure we are weak in that two positions but any other position we are strong this squad suppose to compete for something

  3. Skipped the last two matches as I’ve had the sneaky suspicion that we would lose them both. Guess I’m just gonna retire watching football now and become a fulltime gypsy psychic tarot card reader 😀

Kidding aside I really hope the local supporters are gonna kick some butts stretching from the entire hierachy from players to the ownership.
