Pellegatti: Important week ahead for Kessie’s renewal – Sabitzer pursuit ‘very difficult’

By Oliver Fisher -

It seems there is no number one target for AC Milan for the attacking midfield role, while the next week could see huge steps for Franck Kessie’s renewal.

Carlo Pellegatti spoke to Tutti Convocati (via MilanNews) about Milan’s search to replace Hakan Calhanoglu, confirming that the ‘usual names’ are doing the rounds but at the moment it seems ‘very difficult’ for the Rossoneri to land Marcel Sabitzer of RB Leipzig.

The management know they need a number 10 who also does the coverage phase well, as that is a big part of Stefano Pioli’s game plan and his 4-2-3-1 system.

Meanwhile, Pellegatti reports that during the upcoming week there will contacts between Kessie’s agent and Milan. Milan say they have submitted the second offer, which ranges somewhere between the €5m net per season and €6m net per season range.

The agent says that the offer has not come, however. The idea that Kessie ‘wants to stay at all costs’ is something that reminds the journalist of previous declarations, alluding to the idea that the same was said about Gianluigi Donnarumma and Hakan Calhanoglu before they departed.

  1. get him if Vlasic doesn’t come. Do it fast or else none of them will be available later and we will be stuck with Brahim and Krunic
