Pellegatti believes Milan will sign a €30-40m striker and suggests Chelsea man as a target

AC Milan’s management are already beginning to think about the centre-forward that they will sign next summer to entrust the starting role to moving forward.

Milan have had issues in the striker department this season given that the 35-year-old Olivier Giroud has been asked to overtime due to the injuries sustained by Divock Origi and Ante Rebic, plus the fact Zlatan Ibrahimovic is 40 and will be out until January as he continues to recover from knee surgery.

That means there has been a lot of speculation about who could potentially arrive and take the baton of being the starting centre-forward for years to come, someone who gives guarantees from an output point of view but also in terms of physical reliability.

One of the names that has been linked by numerous sources is Noah Okafor who has two goals in two Champions League games for Red Bull Salzburg so far this summer. However, Carlo Pellegatti is not convinced.

“Honestly, it would not make me crazy to entrust the fortunes of Milan to him. Think, we are already talking about next summer, but time flies quickly. We will take a great center forward, thinking that Ibra will retire, even if I don’t want to think about that,” he said on his YouTube channel.

“The problem is that it is not easy to hypothesise the name of a great center forward. Milan will go to get a 30-40 million euro bomber but it is difficult to make predictions. But I would have a name: today he plays at Chelsea, with whom there are good relations between the two clubs.

“Maybe if Chelsea were to offer an indecent offer for Leao , Milan could take it into consideration, even if I don’t even want to think about this hypothesis… the club will think about it. The thought of losing Leao hurts me terribly.

“Returning to the striker, he is a 21-year-old player who has a value of between 25 and 40 million euros, has good experience and last year did well at Southampton, he is an Albanian who plays in the Chelsea, we’re talking about Armando Broja.

“In terms of cost, age and perspective he is an interesting player. He was already in the orbit of Napoli, in case of Osimhen’s departure. He today he is not a starter in Chelsea and this would be my name for the Milan attack.

“Broja is a player that we hope Milan can consider next summer. In the meantime we will try to understand how the conditions of Origi and Rebic will evolve. The Belgian has nothing to envy to the great European center forward.”
