Pellegatti: Milan could bolster midfield by signing Juventus star – “A crazy idea”

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan should try to sign Adrien Rabiot from Juventus to add quality to a couple of different roles, according to journalist Carlo Pellegatti.

The void left by Franck Kessie has not been filled at Milan as Sandro Tonali and Ismael Bennacer have stepped up but there is not really a third suitable player given Tommaso Pobega needs time to adapt and Rade Krunic is better further forward, while Aster Vranckx has been used more upfield too.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Carlo Pellegatti mentioned the possible purchase of Rabiot. The midfielder was a protagonist yesterday with France shirt, scoring the equaliser after Theo Hernandez’s fantastic cross.

“He has never driven me crazy, often injured and not very consistent. When Juve took him I didn’t envy the coach who was supposed to train him. But given the latest performances in the league and yesterday’s performance in the France shirt, a crazy idea came to me,” he said (via MilanLive).

“A crazy idea because you think of a Rabiot in midfield, as Milan’s third starter, with Tonali and Bennacer. A player one meter ninety tall… think how the quality, calibre, physicality of Milan could rise in midfield…

“It’s madness up to a certain point, his contract expires in June. It’s a rich contract but Milan could finally be the active protagonist of a negotiation involving a player whose contract expires.

“Usually we have suffered attacks on our players, I would like us to be active protagonists. A 7/8 million salary is too high? True, but I invite you to reflect: you have to sign at least a two-year contract, so as to take advantage of the Growth Decree, so it costs you 10/11 million euros [gross].

“I spend 10/11 million to fix the midfield, so you can settle two roles, since he can also play in a ten position as Pioli likes. I remember that last June, a well-founded rumour spread that Milan were interested in Dybala, demonstrating that the Rossoneri can go to players with high salaries. Rabiot crazy? I hope they can listen to my reflections.”

  1. Hard No.

Rabiot is an overpaid sack of dogsh!te. His mum/agent wants huge commissions too. Exactly the wrong signing. Please avoid.

  2. LMAO, this is a crock of dung. Juve and ManUtd reached an agreement this summer for sale of Rabiot, everything was agreed on, then player asked for +7M per/year. ManUtd withdrew their offer immediately.

He is not just overpaid, he actually believes he is worth more than what he is curranty paid. Talk about delusions of grandeur.

  3. I’m sorry but I don’t want juve-players tainting our team. Ha can do good games, but he can also be hortible. And for 7 m I m’d rather se they payed all that to Leao instead.

  4. There’s one main reason why Juventus have been dreadful for the last 2/3 seasons – their players. Why would we want to sign any of them?

  5. Thia journalist makes me laugh sometimes..never once hia news are proven to be right lol I can’t stop laughing 7 or 8 m for him….lol 😂….
