Famous AC Milan fan and journalist Carlo Pellegatti believes that togetherness is the secret to the team’s success so far this season.
Going into the season many did not expect Milan to continue their remarkable run of form from the second half of the 2019-20 season, which coincided with Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s return.
However, the Rossoneri currently sit top of the Serie A table with a two-point advantage over their city rivals Inter having won 15 of their opening 21 league games this season, losing just twice.
That is a remarkable achievement and has come despite the fact that the team have battled torrent after torrent of selection problems because of injuries and COVID cases.
Pellegatti spoke about the situation Milan have found themselves in on a video on his YouTube channel, and believes that a sense of unity and belonging has been key for the group.
“One of the secrets of Milan is to be a very united team, which has fun and which has become convinced since last June,” he said (via MilanNews).
“Even the players who could be distracted by their expiring contract, Gianluigi Donnarumma and Hakan Calhanoglu, are drivers. Easy to have fun when you win true, but in January Milan lost both to Juventus and Atalanta, and they came through. Great merits go to Stefano Pioli, because he is leading a good cohesive group.”
