The reports that AC Milan are close to signing Khvicha Kvaratskhelia from Rubin Kazan have been described as a ‘hoax’ by Carlo Pellegatti.
It was reported over the weekend by Metaratings.ru that Kvaratskhelia will continue his career at Milan, with former Rossoneri defender Kakhaber Kaladze having assisted the deal. We have been waiting for confirmation of this news from more reliable sources and Italy, but instead there has been nothing but denials.
Carlo Pellegatti has spoken on his YouTube channel (via MilanLive) about the Kvaratskhelia rumours, and he reveals that from Milan’s side it has transpired that there is no interest in signing the young winger.
There are a couple of reasons for this, namely the big factor that he plays on the left wing, where Stefano Pioli already has plenty of options at his disposal, and he is also a non-EU player (Georgia are not an EU member) which means he would take the last spot.
“This news is the hoax of the day,” as per Pellegatti.
