Pellegatti Walker

‘Would gladly come’ – Pellegatti states Walker has already ‘offered’ himself to Milan

Kyle Walker is a transfer target for AC Milan, and the right-back has offered himself to the club, according to a journalist this afternoon.

The right-back position is one that Milan fans have constantly been frustrated by in recent years. Davide Calabria has slowly faded whilst summer signing Emerson Royal has yet to win everyone over with hit-and-miss performances.

Given Calabria’s contract is set to expire this summer, talks of another new arrival are rife, but the Rossoneri have to prioritise the right areas. In addition to this, signing Walker is arguably only a short-term solution.

Carlo Pellegatti spoke to Pressing, via Milan News, about the chances of the Englishman arriving at Milanello, and he revealed that Walker intends to move to Italy.

“Walker has guaranteed Milan that he could arrive for zero. He still has one and a half years with Manchester City, and he should still earn €9 million, but he has told Milan that he is willing to spread this figure over two and a half years.

“The Englishman is liked because he is a captain. Walker has offered and would gladly come to Milan. If he were to arrive, the deal for Marcus Rashford, a striker on his way out of Manchester United as the Rossoneri can only take one English player, would be skipped. At that point, Milan would go for another striker.”

Whether any deal will happen remains to be seen, especially considering that negotiations have slowed today with the Diavolo looking more at an attacking option.

  1. Someone please show me the rule that prohibits Milan from signing English plauers. FIGC made English players equal to Swiss and EU players in 2023 (back when RLC was taking up a non EU spot). So was thar only temporary, was it overturned, or some new regulations introduced?

  2. Get it done. If it’s between him and Rashford I think Walker makes more sense. Rashford would be most likely a backup where Walker can start straight away and be a big boost.

    1. A big boost to what? Does he score goals? FFS. We don’t need this 34 year old expensive retiree. All he will do is block Jimenez.

      1. Really walker to Jimenez?? 😔🤦

Despite the current drop in form I still expect us to be happy about the deal coz no matter how lost he may look non of our RB can lace his shoes. Then imagine us getting him with little or no transfer fee

        1. Bro, defense is not the problem right now. And you need to learn how to read. Did I say Jimenez is better? Did I even say he’s “as good”? No. But the kid is 21 and needs to play if we hope that he’ll become a good player. But yeah, let’s take the 4th best defense in the league and add 34 year old Walker and pay him like 4M per year so that we can say we got Kyle Walker (34 year old version though, not prime Kyle Walker). And then when we have to play another relegation side in a low block Kyle Walker can show our strikers how to score a goal in that situation. 🙄🙄🙄

          1. A) Defense has been a huge problem this season. Protecting leads has been a huge problem. Look no furthur than last game.
            B) How is Rashford going to help beat the low block? Is he going to get on the end of crosses? Probably not. He’s not a true striker either. He’s another counter attacking type of player. His best position is LW and he is not better than Leao.
Like I said, Walker walks into our starting lineup and starts immediately and improves the team immediately. And he’s not an overly sensitive spoiled baby with attitude problems like Rashford. This team doesn’t need another one of those.

          2. ffs are we real Madrid ? , why should we develop Jimenez on the expense of our team AC MILAN , if Walker half the player he was two years ago he would be by far a great signing

          3. @K

            A. Lol. The issue with all of our 0-0 or 1-1 games (and two 0-1 losses) is not defense. Sorry. Again, at the risk of sound like a fking broken record: We’re tied for fourth least goals conceded in the league. And how does Walker save Fofana or Maignan from a fk up? Crazy logic. You can keep a clean sheet every game, but if you don’t score, it will still be at best 0-0 and one single point.

            B. WTF? Where in my post did I mention Rashford?

          4. @Vero. We have conceded 2 or more goals 10 times this season in all competitions. When you say we are tied for 4th in goals conceded, we have also played 2 fewer games right now than a lot of teams in the league, and 1 fewer than some others, so that’s not really a fair comparison.

        2. I share your opinion 100%. Despite the age he is the best in yhe world or oeople really have such a short memory. He will not block anyone rather provide an instant boost and mentor the youngsters. We get him for sub 10 milion and I am sure his wages will be around 5 milion at this age. Win Win Win

      2. Defense was a problem at the beginning of the season. After the change in structure, there has been quality stabilization and they are now a much smaller issue than accuracy of Morata and Tammy or the effectiveness of Milan wingers crosses.

        1. Goddammit, I didn’t even know the rules properly, so it has been changed.
Italian teams can sign only one British player per transfer season.
          Rashford it is then.

Oh my, but can’t pass on Walker… wish we can sign a pre contract till end of season with him, he goes on loan elsewhere, gosh.

          1. Actually good idea 😀 I thinking about it too . Definitely we don’t need Chuk and Abraham is useless player. RLC is also average, but in Midfield we need players if we want to play 433. Terminate Abraham contract or try to sell Chuk who is same sh*t like Tammy

  3. Getting walker for free and him coming to Milan would be an absolute day light robbery, can’t imagine getting any decent RB this January not to talk of getting a world class player

  4. Ugh ..

Rashford – headcase who has fallen off a cliff. Plays in Rafa’s spot primarily.

Walker – 34 and showing signs of being past it. So we pay 6m for him to not play 1.5 years from now. Looking at this like a capex still too much as he doesn’t give us enough past where Calabria is today.

We need quality Medfield depth (Ricci). We need a scoring striker (Lucca). We need them to be Italian so they add depth to the UCL roster.

We need to see Tammy start in place of Morata for 3 games to see if he can get a rhythm back like his first year in Serie A. Morata to come from the bench as a super Sub.

Washed up headcases and elderly runners are not the Milan project.

    1. Lies! Kyle Walker will solve all of the problems. He’ll have 15 goals and 15 assists, in just the second half of the season. He will show us the secret to breaking a low block: scoring goals from the halfway line. Sign him now! /s

    2. Rashford can queen in a 4-4-2. The question is, can Leao play as the wide left mid? That requires a lot of defensive contribution …

      1. I admit to not being a Rashford fan. I also watch a lot of EPL. Rashford is not a hard working player. He tends to do well, the same with Leao when there is a lot of space in front. The play in the EPL is often so open that it works for him. Not so in Seria A. He doesn’t beat players 1:1 unless it’s a foot race. Lastly, he has no holdup play. Utd gave him every chance in the world to succeed- 60 games over the last 2.5 years. He has basically quit because the managers are holding his work rate, productivity, and attitude to task. If ACM get him and he doesn’t work out, whoever was behind the deal needs to go.

  5. Two positions that are giving us serious headaches: the right-back, and the attack. Walker will solve the right-back problem, without costing us much. For the attack, Rashford may be a gamble. His preferred position is Leao’s wing. So, getting him as a No.9 to solve our scoring problem might not achieve the desired effect for the rest of the season. The management needs to think through this very well before making their pick of the two Englishmen.

  6. Ya no… 34yr old on massive wages whos been in complete garbage form for over a year now. Not to mention a horrendous human being off the pitch. Gtfo of here with this trash. Go make an actual intelligent signing

  7. Even if the right back position is a problem, do we need a washed up 34 year old to fix it, we need a long term solution, even if Calabria and Florenzi leave, we still have Terraciano, Coubis, Bakoune and Alessio, Juve just bought Costa, a young and future Portuguese star…
