This afternoon, Marco Pellegrino’s departure from AC Milan has been confirmed, with a move coming about rather quickly.
There has been a lot said about Pellegrino so far this month. Now, the deal has been concluded, with Boca Junior announcing his move on social media this afternoon. The Argentine defender only played a handful of times for Milan after signing in 2023.
Initially signing a long-term deal with the Rossoneri, it was hoped that the Argentine could be a part of the future. However, injuries set him back, and he spent time with Salernitana and Independiente before his loan spell with Huracan this year.
After only a few months, Boca have decided to purchase the 22-year-old for a fee of €3.5 million, which is a profit on what the Diavolo paid two summers ago. However, they also have protected his future by inserting a 20% future sale clause into the deal.
It will be interesting to see how his career develops now, and with Milan having some insurance with the clause, it feels like a bit of good business.
The defender had previously admitted that he wanted to return to the Diavolo this summer, feeling like he was ready to ‘take over’ Milan. However, he will obviously not get that chance with his exit being permanent.
Good luck, Marco…
Have a good journey at Argentine..
Adiós 👋 y buena suerte 💪
