AC Milan are evaluating various strikers in view of the summer window, and one of them has seemingly expressed an openness to joining.
As Calciomercato.com report, Parma star Mateo Pellegrino answered questions from journalists at the presentation of the 21st Amici dei Bambini Tournament at the Carro Social Club in Sesto San Giovanni.
One journalist asked: “You recently renewed your contract with Parma, but there’s a lot of interest in you, including from AC Milan. Are you happy about that?”
The response from the Argentine: “The interest is nice. My focus right now is on Parma. I just renewed my contract and I’m very happy. I think game by game, day by day, and that’s my focus now.”
Milan ready to strike?
Despite the fact that the Ducali have just announced a contract extension for Pellegrino, the feeling is that he could still depart in the summer and that it was a move simply to acquire leverage in view of possible negotiations.
The 24-year-old is gifted with great physicality and a keen eye for goal, which seems to marry up with what Massimiliano Allegri has asked for. He has seven goals so far in Serie A this season, and a current price tag of €25-30m.
In 39 appearances across the league and cup competitions since joining Parma, the striker has scored 12 goals, becoming a key asset to Carlos Cuesta’s side. The club reiterated that the extension is the result of consistent growth and a mutual desire to consolidate the club’s sporting objectives.
In recent months, though, Pellegrino has been in the sights of several Italian clubs. The Rossoneri are ‘the frontrunners to secure the young talent’s services’ as per the report. Juventus also considered him in the January window, and LaLiga sides also made inquiries, given he holds Spanish citizenship.

Yeah I don’t like this one. He might be tall and strong, but he has the same problem as Gimenez in that he is not technical enough to shield the ball and hold up the play
Agreed. The kid is nothing special. Should stay at Parma and develop more.
Same problem as Giminez?
He’s basically the opposite player, a total battering ram. His whole game is built on absorbing the attention of the opposing CBs and beating them up. Not the most technically gifted but then neither is Lukaku or Hojlund and they can get the job done.
Giminez is a support striker.
so ur telling us that giminez and this guy can play together? Poggers
Not necessarily but they are different. This kid is more of a true CF. Big, strong, good in the air and hold up play. is he a finished product. heck no. Santi is a Firmino type of forward. more nimble, quick on the ball, better at going into spaces and link up play. I wouldnt say they cant play together, but if you need a SS, then might as well use the better options we have (Puli, Rafa and Nkunku) are essentially SS.
