AC Milan should have no worried regarding the fitness of Mario Mandzukic, according to his personal trainer Luka Milanovic.
It was confirmed yesterday that Milan have agreed on a deal with the 34-year-old until the end of the current season with an option to extend the contract for the 2021-22 season.
He is of course a player who knows the league well as he played with Juventus, but he has not played a professional game since back in March, though MilanNews reported that he made a good impression with the Milan technical staff in his first session.
Regarding the physical condition of Mandzukic, his personal trainer Luka Milanovic gave an interview to Tuttosport in an attempt to put peoples’ minds at ease.
“Mario now has a high level of strength and endurance. He is ready for a complete training with the group. Precisely by virtue of the latest and specific specifications. Individual sessions based on football,” he said (via MilanNews).
“Match pace? He will need a little bit to adapt, it is completely normal. But knowing his competitiveness, it will be less than what it normally would be. It is difficult to make an exact prediction, but I expect him to be 100% in two or three weeks.”
During his first interview with the club’s TV channel, Mandzukic stated that he is ‘always ready’ having ‘trained a lot’ in recent times, adding how he is ‘committed to return to playing for a great club and to fight for trophies’.
