Photo: First viewing of restricted Milanello as Ibrahimovic’s idea is implemented

This week, news came to light about Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s request for AC Milan to shield Milanello somewhat from the outside world, and today, the blocking has been seen for the first time.

Under Jose Mourinho, Inter implemented a similar defence of their training ground by blocking the outside world out using tarpaulin and this has been mirrored at Milanello today.

Earlier in the week, it had been reported that Ibrahimovic had campaigned within the club for the changes, and with the idea being approved, we have now seen the first implementation of the tarpaulin.

However, we have not received any official reasoning for the decision from Milan, and speculation has been rife about why the decision may have been made.

It could be something very simple, such as having more privacy around the club, which means tactics and formations are more difficult to know beforehand, as there have been several occasions where the team line-up has been leaked in the days before fixtures.

Alternatively, it could be a decision with a psychological view, acting as a literal blockade from the outside world with the hope of removing the pressure from the team slightly.

Regardless of why the decision has been made, the system has now been implemented, and Antonio Vitiello posted a picture of the new-look Milanello to his X account, which can be seen below.
