Mario Mandzukic has announced that he will be leaving AC Milan after just under six months, having signed as a free agent back in January.
The Croatian veteran was supposed to arrive and give Milan some much needed centre-forward depth given Ibrahimovic’s injury struggles, but Mandzukic also encountered problems and in the end his time at Milan never took off.
His contract was just until the end of the season with the club having an option to extend it, but his departure has now been confirmed via a statement on his Instagram account.
“It was a pleasure to play for Milan – I am thankful to the club management for giving me the opportunity, to the coaching staff for their dedicated work and to my teammates who are not only excellent players but a great group of guys. I am happy that we have managed to get this great club back to the Champions League where it belongs and I wish everybody at the club only the best in the future.”

And the curse of the #9 continues…
I have a feeling that the new young striker that will come next year will break the curse
thank god one goes alone, thanks for nothing and goodbye
I’d want either Belotti or Vlahovic to Don that #9 next season.
I have a gut feeling that only an Italian striker can break the curse started by inzaghi , belloti can you be the one?😉
