David Rodriguez, the now former assistant manager of AC Milan’s Primavera side, has published a farewell message on his social media. Together with Ignazio Abate, he achieved great results with the youngsters of the Rossoneri.

Rodriguez joined Abate’s staff ahead of the 2023-24 season and helped guide the team to the final of the UEFA Youth League. Although Milan ended up losing it against Olympiacos, they showed their strengths and qualities with such a young team.

On his Instagram this morning, Rodriguez published a farewell message to those at Milan and the fans, following Abate’s decision to leave the club for Ternana.

“Today I want to say goodbye to all of those who make up the A.C. Milan family.

“Several weeks after finishing the season, I think I am more aware of the wonderful experience I had during these ten long months. The person and the trainer I was a year ago is not the same as the one today who writes these lines, and that’s what this path is about: to evolve, to learn, to live.

“I want to thank all the people with whom I have shared every moment lived during this year. Especially to Abate for giving me the opportunity to work with him and opening the doors to his staff: Simo, Vale, Marco, Ale, Benja, Ste, Gerry…

” I also want to give thanks to the football players, who make us demand, learn and enjoy this infinite passion. Life and the road goes on!

“Thank you Milan 🔴⚫️.”

It’s not yet been revealed where Rodriguez will go now, but there has been interest from some Spanish clubs in the past few months. In any case, he certainly deserves praise for what he did with Milan’s Primavera along with Abate.
