AC Milan are heading into the international break as league leaders thanks to their dramatic 1-0 win against Genoa on Saturday. Gerry Cardinale, the owner of the team, is understandably very happy.
The work done in the summer has paid off for the Rossoneri, currently sitting in first place with 21 points out of a possible 24. Stefano Pioli has done well to build a team with the new signings and Cardinale has now praised his employees.
On their front page, Gazzetta dello Sport highlighted Milan and included a snippet of the Cardinale interview: “Star-spangled Milan. Pioli can believe in the Scudetto. Cardinale: ‘A character worthy of champions’. The American celebrates first place.”
