Photos: Füllkrug joins Milan teammates in training ahead of Verona clash

AC Milan returned to Milanello on Friday afternoon and Niclas Füllkrug trained with his new teammates, even if the announcement hasn’t been made yet.

Milan are currently preparing for their game against Hellas Verona on Sunday morning, having returned to the training ground earlier today. The players got a few days off for Christmas but Massimiliano Allegri wasn’t able to give more, which is understandable.

Today was an opportunity for Allegri to take stock of some of his players and sadly, per the latest reports, Matteo Gabbia will have to sit out the game on Sunday. He’s still feeling knee pain and Milan won’t take any risks, but at least Rafael Leao is back in full force.

As mentioned, Füllkrug trained with his new teammates for the first time but since he hasn’t been announced yet, there were no photos on the website. Fortunately, a few photos were still taken of the German, one of which is present below.

    1. Cause technicly he is still a Dortmund player, but since they dont want him they let him train with us(speaks rly on his quality) On January 2nd all the paperwork will be signed and transfer announced

    2. He cannot play right now until the January transfer window is open. Which means that he will be available to Allegri on January 2nd when Milan plays Calagri away.

      1. 💯 J, spot on.

Press reports say he fell out with West Ham and they agreed to release him to us for training early, even though technically hes still employed by them until the window opens in Jan. Suggests the manager had absolutely no desire to call up Fullkrug even for the bench this weekends upcoming EPL fixture.

This suits Milan, and Füllkrug to get acclimatised to eachother earlier. Im just hoping he’s not a complete flop but even if he is, Gimenez returns after a couple months to boost our numbers up front, and the Füllkrug deal is a loan without obligation.

        Forza Milan

        1. Yeah, one striker with 0 goals will be replaced with another one who has scored the same amount. Let’s face, it’s another mercato debacle. Tare only worked out the outgoing transfers apparently, doubt that’s going to change under the algorithm lords in January.
