Photos: Milan players react to Roma draw on social media – “A little bitter in the mouth”

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan were not able to maintain their 100% start to the season as they were held to a 3-3 draw by Roma despite having led three times.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored brace and Alexis Saelemaekers fired home early in the second half, but it not enough to take all three points.

The Swede scored inside two minutes before Edin Dzeko levelled after a Ciprian Tatarusanu error, and Saelemaekers restored the advantage within two minutes of the restart but Jordan Veretout equalised after a contentious penalty.

Milan thought they had done enough when Ibrahimovic tucked away a penalty of his own following a foul on Hakan Calhanoglu, but Marash Kumbulla bundled home a late equaliser.

Below are the reactions of the Milan players on social media after a dramatic and frustrating night…

Calabria: “A draw that leaves us a little bitter in the mouth but that must not make us lose our enthusiasm. Step by step to achieve our goals, we are ready to return to San Siro in three days to make up for it.”
