Pioli assures Ibrahimovic returned in ‘very good shape’ from international duty

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been a key player for Milan this season with 15 goals in 15 games, but he has had a few injuries. Returning to the national team, therefore, some fans were worried about his condition.

The 39-year-old played two games for Sweden (84 and 67 minutes respectively) and had a good impact as he bagged two assists. He was rested for the friendly game at the end of the international break and thus has had some rest.

Stefano Pioli was asked about the condition of Ibrahimovic amid the tight scheduled but made sure to shut down the doubts. The striker didn’t appear tired upon his return to Milanello and he was even in ‘very good’ shape.

“Ibra is fine. He’s happy to be back in the national team and he’s available. He did two high-level training sessions, he arrived in very good shape. Everything is fine,” he stated (via MilanNews).

Ibrahimovic is expected to play from the first minute tomorrow as Milan will take on Sampdoria at San Siro. Following the win away at Fiorentina, they will want to continue on the same path. It’s a crucial game, therefore.
