AC Milan boss Stefano Pioli has hinted that a few players are unhappy about being left out of his plans entirely and confirmed he wants to offload some if not all of them.
A pretty big clue came regarding the fate of three players as Divock Origi, Alexis Saelemaekers and Fode Ballo-Toure were all not called up by Pioli for the first match of the season against Bologna last night.
According to MilanNews journalist Antonio Vitiello, Pioli was asked about some more movement before the window closes including the sales of those players who have been excluded from his plans entirely.
“I think we have to let some more players go because I absolutely asked the club to have fewer players,” he said.
“I want players who can play, [who are] happy, available. I don’t want unhappy players who have known since Tuesday that they won’t play on Sunday.
“Then, if there’s an opportunity to improve the squad, the club has shown a lot of willingness.”
Vitiello also reported that Saelemaekers was gutted to not be making the trip with his team-mates to Reggio-Emilia. In fact, the journalist says that he is ‘very hurt’ by being excluded entirely.
After three and a half years at the club, things could be heading for quite a sad parting.
