Pioli names the two things that his Milan side must combine in order to ‘go far’ – video

AC Milan boss Stefano Pioli believes that his team can go as far as they want to as long as they have the right attitude and determination.

Pioli spoke to Milan TV after last night’s game against Venezia, during which his side toiled away for over 65 minutes before eventually breaking the deadlock through Brahim Diaz, before Theo Hernandez sealed the game 12 minutes from time.

It was far from a vintage performance but the Rossoneri hung in there, remained composed and took the big chance the presented itself. Below are Pioli’s comments, as relayed by MilanNews.

“We played a serious and determined game. There was a little lack of quality in the first half. If you don’t break these games it becomes difficult but I’m satisfied with the performance. The crowd helped us a lot and we were patient,” he said.

“You have to match both attitudes to the quality of the team. So you can go far. Whoever is more of a team from start to finish has more chances of winning. If we combine quality, we can go far.

On the movement of attacking players: “I think our defensive phase depends a lot on the work of the front players. We spend a lot but we have great availability and this gives us an advantage. We have to continue like this.”
