Pioli confirms Adli or Reijnders could replace Krunic: “We will see”

By Isak Möller -

Rade Krunic has played every single game from start to finish this season and the time has come to give him some rest. As confirmed by Stefano Pioli today, Yacine Adli or Tijjani Reijnders could replace him.

The Bosnian has been a key player for Milan so far but it’s clear that he could use some rest. The Rossoneri will face Verona tomorrow and then Cagliari on Wednesday, so it remains to be seen which game he will be rested in.

Pioli was asked about the matter during today’s press conference as Reijnders has been tested in that role in recent days. He confirmed that the Dutchman could play in the No.6 role, but also stated that Yacine Adli is an option.

“He could play in that position, as could Adli. We’ll see when it’s necessary. We’re not dependent on a single player, but on team play,” he stated.

The game against Verona is scheduled for 15:00 and 70k fans are expected at San Siro, which is yet another good attendance. Milan’s third kit will be debuted and hopefully, the first game will be a win.

  1. The thing with Krunic is that he only can be the ”11th player on the team”. He is stable and does what he is supposed to do. Which is great. But that is it.

  2. Adli always looks good but he needs to play as Mezzala.
It would be just typical if he is played as DM, has a terrible game and then is never given more chances.

At this point we ought to promote a Primavera player to cover this posititon. It’s crazy. Krunic gets lots of stick, but the man is working double time

  3. At some point questions about Adli work ethic, character and ambition have to be asked.
He only played 100 minutes last season, barely played in preseason this year and he still decided to stay.
Ambitious person would have asked to be sold or loan out at least but this dude is fine sitting on the bench, watching games just like the rest of us.

      1. You would be wasting only your own time and further hurting your career just to do something in spite of other people?🤔
How is that benefiting you or anyone else?

    1. I think the photo above paints a thousand words. Pioli trying to be playful and Adli just wants to get away from him.
His attitude has been first class. He deserves his chance!

  4. My opinion Adli is a very talented player skilfull in ball control, turning ,vision and passing, don’t forget dribling when needed. He could play as a playmaker No. 10 orNo. 6 Pirlo style. He needs more play time
