Pioli confirms Ibrahimovic ‘is better’ and estimates remaining recovery time

By Isak Möller -

In tonight’s clash against Juventus, despite an overall positive performance under the circumstances, it was clear that Milan missed Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Of course, it’s hard to replace the 39-year-old up front.

Fortunately, it seems Ibrahimovic could be back in action for the Rossoneri very soon, though they don’t want to risk anything. In an interview with Sky Italia, as cited by MilanNews, Stefano Pioli provided an update on the Swede.

“He is better, the next match is in three days. We will see if he can be available for the Torino game but he will certainly return against Cagliari. On Saturday, we will evaluate him. I hope to recover a few other players as well,” he stated.

Milan’s next game is against Torino on Saturday, and it will be crucial for them to bounce back with a win. Three days after that, they will face Il Toro again in the Coppa Italia Round of 16. hopefully, Ibra will be there for one of them.

As Ante Rebic has tested positive for COVID, Rafael Leao is the sole option for the centre-forward role (not counting Lorenzo Colombo) and he’s on four yellow cards, meaning he could miss the game against Cagliari.
