Pioli confirms midfielder ‘will sign as new Milan player in the next hours’ in €15m operation

AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli has confirmed that Tiemoue Bakayoko will sign for the club tomorrow after doing his medical today.

Bakayoko completed his medical and sports fitness test on Sunday morning and he will sign his Milan contract tomorrow, it has been confirmed by various sources. As Fabrizio Romano is reporting on Twitter, Pioli spoke to the media after the game and confirmed that Bakayoko’s return to Milan after two years away will soon be made officiail.

“Tiemoué Bakayoko will sign as new Milan player in the next hours from Chelsea,” he said after the game. Romano adds that the operation will be a two-year loan with an option to buy set at €15m.

Bakayoko will also extend his contract with Chelsea until June 2024 to facilitate the deal, given that his previous contract was set to expire in June 2022 thus in theory loaning out any possible loan.
