Pioli definitively responds to rumours of heated argument between Paqueta and Ibrahimovic

AC Milan boss Stefano Pioli has poured cold water on rumours of a heated disagreement between Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Lucas Paqueta.

Reports emerged from Tuttosport earlier on Friday that following the game against Torino, which Milan won 1-0, the Swede called out the Brazilian after several mistakes.

The paper claims that Paqueta didn’t exactly respond well after Ibrahimovic pointed out the big difference between what Paqueta does in training and during games. The 23-year-old apparently didn’t hesitate to fire a shot back at Ibra.

It might have explained why Ibrahimovic looked so angry when going through the mixed zone after the game.

However, Pioli was asked about whether the incident happened during his press conference before Saturday’s trip to face Fiorentina, and his comments were transcribed by MilanNews.

“There is no truth. If there are discussions in training where you can incite a partner yes, but we do not create cases that do not exist. The group is compact and together travels a single road,” he said.

Meanwhile, Pioli was also forced to answer questions regarding his own future at the club and rumours of a rift both between he and Mateo Musacchio and between the directors at the club.
