Pioli enjoying a ‘dream summer’ as he admits: “I already miss my players”

AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli has revealed that he is currently enjoying the happiest summer of his life after the Scudetto win.

Not many gave Milan a chance of winning the league title last season but the Rossoneri racked up 86 points, including wins in each of the last six games of the season, to wrestle the title of champions back from their city rivals Inter.

After a memorable season, Pioli is enjoying his well-deserved holidays. First he was in Sicily with friends and now he is in Forte dei Marmi with the his family. He was intercepted by La Gazzetta dello Sport and spoke about his current feeling.

“Yes, it’s a dream summer. Surely the best of my life. I’ve never been so Milanista,” he said (via MilanNews).

“I can’t wait to go back to coaching and defending the Scudetto. I already miss my players.”

The time for thinking about next season’s objectives will come after some well-earned rest, and it will not be an easy 2022-23 season for Milan. The challenge is two-fold and the stakes are doubled: the team must try and retain the Scudetto to get a second star while the objective is to go further in Europe.
