Stefano Pioli’s rotation against Empoli backfired and the manager is expected to revert to the usual starting XI for the upcoming Napoli clash. At least the big stars will be well-rested for the game.
Milan failed to come away with all three points against Empoli as they struggled to find the back of the net. Pioli made five changes to the starting XI for the game and that rotation has since been criticised, given the tight top-four race.
For the game against Napoli, as all indications point to, Pioli will field the same XI that we saw at Stadio Diego Armando Maradona last weekend. This means that the likes of Simon Kjaer, Rade Krunic, Brahim Diaz, Rafael Leao and Olivier Giroud will be back.
The game is scheduled for 21:00 CET on Wednesday and it should be a great atmosphere underneath the floodlights at San Siro. The stadium is nearly sold out and tickets have only been for sale for season-ticket holders and members, meaning only devoted fans will be present.
