GdS: Pioli expected to fully change the attack for Empoli game

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli could field an entirely new attacking department compared to the team that beat Napoli 4-0 at the weekend, a report claims.

According to this morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), Pioli is expected to make some rotations for tonight’s game at San Siro against Empoli, which would see Brahim Diaz, Rafael Leao and Olivier Giroud all drop out.

Brahim would be replaced by Alexis Saelemaekers on the right side, Ante Rebic is tipped to start on the left over Leao who is not at 100%, and Divock Origi should start over Giroud who would be given a rest.

The paper also predict that Rade Krunic will be rested which gives a chance for Tommaso Pobega to start as an attacking midfielder, which Sandro Tonali and Ismael Bennacer therefore reverting to being the midfield pairing after the Algerian played more advanced on Sunday.

  1. Pobega, Rebic and Origi. This is going to be painfull to watch again, isn’t it?

Why not stick with 433 and play CdK on the left and Adli in midfield.

  2. We are bound to lose
Tonight. Empoli isn’t total s***. Many of our subs are though. So tonight will be very very hard.
