Pioli must decide Hernandez replacement for Empoli clash – two candidates

Theo Hernandez sustained a muscle injury in AC Milan’s defeat to Napoli and he will at least miss the game against Empoli after the break. There are two players in the running to replace him.

Hernandez was one of Milan’s best players against the Partenopei and he assisted Olivier Giroud for the equaliser. The Rossoneri were unlucky to not even get a point and the added injury has left the fans with a very bitter taste.

As highlighted by SempreMilan.it, there are two players in the running to replace Hernandez against Empoli: Fode Ballo-Toure and Sergino Dest. The former is the natural replacement, but he hasn’t really convinced that much during his Milan spell.

Dest caused a penalty against Napoli and isn’t exactly in the best of forms either, but he arguably has more potential than Ballo-Toure. Next week will be important for Stefano Pioli to decide his new left-back for the Empoli clash, as both are on international duty currently.

Milan are hoping to have Hernandez back for the game against Chelsea, as well as the one against Juventus.
