Pioli hits back at recent Rebic rumours: “He’s ready to give everything”

By Isak Möller -

Ante Rebic has had a very tough season thus far, suffering from more injuries than goals scored for AC Milan. After a few unflattering reports about his behaviour, Stefano Pioli has now hit back.

Just earlier today, Tuttosport (via SempreMilan.it) reported that Rebic’s teammates are disappointed with his behaviour during training at Milanello. And a few days ago, doubts emerged as tests revealed no injury despite Rebic claiming he had one during Inter-Milan.

Pioli was asked about the situation during today’s press conference (read here) and he clarified the situation, which the media got completely wrong. Rebic did suffer from an injury after all, but it wasn’t a serious one.

“There is no case, Ante suffers from chronic knee tendonitis that occasionally wakes up. In the pre-race warm-up, he had already felt something. Fortunately, only two days of therapy were needed, he’s ready to give everything like the others,” he stated.

It remains to be seen if Rebic will make an appearance off the bench tomorrow, with Rafael Leao expected to start on the left flank. On a good day, we all know how important the No.12 can be for the Rossoneri.

    1. Just a handful of minutes means he won’t get back into shape easily. The more people play, the better they get. Usually. Doesn’t seem to work with Diaz, Saelemaekers, Messias & Leao though…

      1. If a handful of minutes is all he can handle physically, that is what he will get. How difficult is that for you to understand? Pioli probably knows his abilities better than you do, we are second in serie A because of the players you mention so shut up and enjoy the team you supposed to support. Dunno what the b’s stand for but one must be bitchin right?
