It was a bad evening for Milan yesterday as they suffered a humiliating defeat away to Spezia. The newly-promoted side completely dominated the game and deservedly clinched all three points.
From start to finish, Vincenzo Italian’s side dominated the game and given the quality of the respective squads, it’s clear he won the managerial battle by a landslide. Stefano Pioli will have some stuff to work on, in other words, ahead of the derby.
In an interview with MilanTV after the game, as seen in the video below (with subtitles), the manager was clearly disappointed with the game but insisted that they didn’t underestimate their opponents.
“We didn’t underestimate the game, we failed to bring our quality, ideas and intensity to the field. We deserved to lose against a squad that played better than us and that responsibility is ours, starting from me. We must want to bounce back,” he stated.
