Tuttosport: Pioli asks Maldini for quality summer additions – the positions and targets in mind

AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli has asked the management to bring him players of quality this summer, particularly in midfield and attack.

According to Tuttosport (via MilanNews), Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara – the technical director and sporting director of the Rossoneri – have been given the instruction to sign players that will boost the quality of the squad overall.

Movements are expected in midfield because Franck Kessie will leave on a free transfer in addition to the possible exits of Tiemoué Bakayoko and Rade Krunic. The arrival from Bordeaux of Yacine Adli and the return of Tommaso Pobega from his loan at Torino will help, but Pioli wants another signing at least.

Renato Sanches of Lille is the target in mind as he would bring some physicality and some creativity, but signing him will not be easy, especially if the French club do not decrease their asking price.

There are options being evaluated for the attack too such as Noa Lang of Brugge – who can play as a right winger, attacking midfielder and if necessary also as a striker – while Ruslan Malinovskyi of Atalanta (at least €30m) and Nedim Bajrami of Empoli (around €10m) are monitored.
