With less than 20 minutes left until kick-off between AC Milan and Napoli, Stefano Pioli spoke to the media about the important clash. In fact, first place in the league standings is on the line for both sides.
The Rossoneri are coming off three consecutive draws (all comps) but the most recent one, against Inter, provided some positive signals. A win would do them a lot of good confidence-wise, though, and also for the standings.
In an interview with DAZN, as cited by MilanNews, Pioli spoke about the condition of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and the Napoli defence. The Swede is back in the squad for the first time since the game against Juventus.
“Ibrahimovic? He’s better, it’s an important return. He has done two half training sessions, but to already have him is important.”
“Napoli’s defence? We must be good at reading the spaces of the match. If they come high there will be room for depth. We will have to be good at changing phases often, we will have to be intelligent and qualitative.”
As said, it’s a very important game for both sides and that should make for a very exciting game, with the fans already fired up. Whoever ends up on the winning side will have great momentum for the upcoming rounds.
