Pioli previews Napoli clash: “A month ago it wasn’t worth the Scudetto and it’s not worth it now”

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli has claimed that the game against Napoli would not have been decisive in the Scudetto race a month ago and it isn’t now either.

Pioli was interviewed by DAZN before the game between the Rossoneri and the Partenopei, with his comments relayed by MilanNews.

“You can say it is a high-ranking match. A month ago it wasn’t worth the Scudetto and it’s not worth it now. However, it is an important match and we will do our best,” he said.

On his decision to pick Messias: “Quality is always the key to all competitions. You have to do the right things at the right time, Junior has the quality to make the right play.”

On Petagna starting for Napoli over Mertens: “I don’t know why Spalletti made this choice, he doesn’t change our interpretations so much but we take into consideration the qualities of our rivals.”

  1. Very unintelligent coach.
Very poor performance. I honestly think Pioli is done. Very very clueless.
What was krunic doing on the pitch? Diaz had no business on that pitch.
Your left wing is depleted, and right wing is none existent, yet your midfield is dead? Diaz was pocketed all through. You now rely on shipping long balls to Ibra to do what? Who could support him to receive the balls? Diaz? Krunic?
Yet you play same formation, eh Pioli?
Even if we have no money, can’t you get creative for yourself?
Ouch this one pain me swears…chaii
    Another season blown away.
