Pioli has ‘no news’ on Ibrahimovic return and wants a ‘vibrant’ Milan performance

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan coach Stefano Pioli has admitted that he has no news about the potential return of Zlatan Ibrahimovic to the club, and explained what sort of performance he wants to see from the Rossoneri against Paris Saint-Germain.

Speaking to Sport Mediaset (via Milan News) ahead of the Champions League clash with the French champions, the Italian coach was understandably asked about the rumours linking Ibrahimovic with a return in a new job role after his retirement as a player.

“I was busy preparing, I have no news. I know he is rooting for us,” Pioli explained.

In the meantime, Milan have got a huge game to contend with, knowing that a defeat would make it almost mathematically impossible for them to reach the round of 16.

Pioli said that he wants to see a ‘vibrant’ performance from his side and he has no concerns about the support inside San Siro.

“There is no doubt about the support of the fans, we must put in a vibrant performance. To achieve an exceptional result we need to make a significant effort, the match will tell us what to do,” he said.

There is a clear change in the midfield with Yunus Musah expected to take up a central role, on which Pioli said: “These are not experiments, I tried to create a midfield with the characteristics of the players that can be complemented and to try to get out of their press.”
