Tuttosport: Pioli may bring in Pobega to help Milan beat Lazio

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan boss Stefano Pioli may switch to a 4-3-3 for the match against Lazio and bring Tommaso Pobega into the starting eleven, a report claims.

As has been reported by Tuttosport (via Milan News), the Milan boss is desperate to arrest the recent poor run of form and a change of shape could be what does it.

Milan were completely overrun in the midfield by Inter during the Supercoppa Italiana final in midweek which ended 3-0 to the Nerazzurri.

There may be fears that it could happen again against Lazio if Pioli names the same midfield two of Ismael Bennacer and Sandro Tonali. By putting Pobega in the middle as well, it may allow Milan to assert more control over the tempo of the game and be less susceptible to the counter-attack.

The match at the Stadio Olimpico takes place on Tuesday night and will be crucial to Milan’s attempts to catch Napoli.

    1. When anyone tries to defend Adli there’re those who’d say he’s shit but I’ll continue to defend the lad until he proves like the others that he’s shit just as well. A player doesn’t become shit in 114 minutes of action spread across 4 or 5 games but I guess Pioli knows best.

    2. Actually we have many players who can be tried in a 4-3-3… De Ketelaere if he doesn’t come good as a false nine or right wing should be tried in midfield like De bruyne , same goes for Adli especially since the the no.10 role will be sacrificed. Vranckx can be good too if given a chance at the base of midfield or on the right.. Pobega ? He is good at opening space and shooting less so in the midfield manouvering and quick passing.
