AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli was full of praise for the character that his side showed during the 4-0 win over Napoli last night.
Milan put in undoubtedly their best performance of the season right when they needed it most as they beat runaway league leaders comprehensively with Rafael Leao (2), Brahim Diaz and Alexis Saelemaekers scoring.
Pioli spoke to Milan TV after the game to talk through the Rossoneri’s performance.
“We played a very good game, we played it well. It was a match played well, but we have to think immediately about Friday. We can’t make any more mistakes in the league. We want to play in the Champions League again next year,” he said.
“Let’s think about Friday, then we’ll think about the Champions League. They will be intense and difficult matches against Napoli, but now we’re only headed against Empoli. We have to give continuity to this victory.
“Desire and determination can never be lacking in every game. Compactness and the desire to sacrifice are too important, when we do it we manage to play games like this.
“It must always be like this. Opponents also want to win games. Today we played 120% and we won. It must be like this in the next two months.”
