CorSport: Pioli to rely on two reserves again with several defenders out vs. Chelsea

By Oliver Fisher -

While Stefano Pioli battles an injury crisis he will once again ask two regular ‘reserve’ players to try and stop Chelsea from scoring tomorrow.

Corriere dello Sport (via PianetaMilan) writes how Milan will be without Mike Maignan, Davide Calabria, Simon Kjær and Theo Hernández which has certainly put the defence in difficulty given that three of those players are starters.

Therefore, the responsibility will once again be with Ciprian Tatarusanu between the posts and Fodé Ballo-Touré at left-back to try and keep out a Chelsea attack that has not exactly been free-scoring this season so far but is full of firepower.

Ballo-Toure netted the winner in the fourth minute of added time against Empoli on Sunday while Tatarusanu made a couple of smart stops to keep the Tuscan side at bay.

Fikayo Tomori and Pierre Kalulu will be the centre-back pairing with Sergiño Dest on the right. Sandro Tonali and Ismael Bennacer are tipped to start in midfield with Rade Krunić alongside Charles De Ketelaere and Rafael Leão in the trident behind Olivier Giroud.
