CM: Pioli concerned about the output of Milan’s right flank – €80m trio in the sights

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli has become reliant on his left side to generate attacking output, and that could be addressed in the market, a report claims.

Calciomercato.com report how so far this season Davide Calabria has 2 goals and 2 assists, Alessandro Florenzi has 1 goal, 1 goal and 3 assists for Saelemaekers, 4 goals for Messias. Total: 8 goals and 5 assists.

That is why work should be done on the market to address the lack of balance in the attack given that Rafael Leao alone has 11 goals and 6 assists without factoring in Theo Hernandez’s output. Renato Sanches looks set to sign, while Yacine Adli and Tommaso Pobega will return from loans.

There is interest in Noa Lang who Club Brugge value at €25m, and Tottenham’s Steven Bergwijn who is the same price. Then there is Domenico Berardi, a very difficult target but certainly the best out there given he has double figures in goals and assists this season. He would cost €30m or more.

At the moment Milan has no plans to accelerate on the new winger front, but they are aware that something must be done to address the right side.

  1. I swear to god I wouldn’t keep salemaekers as 3 right wing sub that dude it’s just an amateur who knows 2 skills he lacks on pace, shoting passing making smart runs and don’t get me started about crossing I’m yet to see this amateur give a good cross at Milan I feel ashamed seeing this ass play on the rossoneri shirt

  2. Activate junior option and buy new RW starter that can make junior supersub. Try to sell saelemaker to funded new RW

      1. milan isnt gonna sell him as they renewed his contract untill 2026 in october 2021 and thereby clearly has hopes to further develope the player in the coming year or two so it seems highly unlikely that a sale is right around the corner currently.

  3. Should have bought Faivre for 15M – bargain price. Berardi is solid, but not sure we will spend 30-35M for him given his age. Belotti is fine especially on a free transfer. Solid for league but not the world class striker we need for CL. If we go that route looks like we are bringing Ibra back again. Wish we would invest heavily in a striker but looks like we will push that off again until he retires. Botman and Sanches would be great, but I’d rather sign Kamara on a free and use the Sanches $$ on a proper striker and/or RW…

    1. We all would love to add different players but the problem is wthr those players want to join Milan when they are already getting better salary from other teams. This calls for adding financial power to the team. Just leave aside the TV telecast income or Serie A income based on standings… individually also, we are earning very less. Our shirt sponsorship, digital media rights, etc also is very less. We all must accept that just placing salary cap won’t work as all the top athletes want money specially with thr agents focused on the same.

We need to serious focus on major capital gains like Chelsea/Porto/Dortmund and Elliot should find a strategy to invest without breaking Financial Fair Play norms. For eg, Juventus have shirt sponsorship deal with Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) for a base fee of €45 million (US$54.8 million) a year plus bonuses. Kindly note that both are Juventus and Fiat are controlled by the Exor group of companies owned by the family of Bianconeri president Andrea Agnelli. And, we have a sponsorship deal with Emirates for just €10 million.
