Stefano Pioli is set to show faith in Ciprian Tatarusanu and continue to start him now that Mike Maignan has suffered another injury setback, a report claims.
As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Milan News), the Italian coach is not going to panic about his first choice goalkeeper being out until the new year.
Tatarusanu has been the starting goalkeeper since Maignan’s injury but the Frenchman was set to return this weekend. A fresh injury will now keep him out for another two months or so.
Many fans and pundits have been critical of Tatarusanu’s performances whilst deputising, but Pioli is set to trust his experience and continue using him.
The other alternatives for Pioli in that area of the pitch are Antonio Mirante who is third choice and 39 years old, and youngster Andreas Jungdal.
The latter is playing for the Primavera side and is set to be loaned out in January for some more game time.
