Pioli shares thoughts on Juventus situation as Milan now sit in fifth place

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan are currently fifth in the Serie A standings as Juventus’ point deduction has been revoked for now, meaning the Bianconeri are six points ahead. Stefano Pioli spoke about this during his presser today.

Juventus have been given their 15 points back in the capital gains investigation as there was a lack of clarity in the first decision. A new trial will thus be held and it remains to be seen if that decision will come into effect this season or the next one.

Milan will take on Lecce tomorrow and Pioli spoke to the media at his usual press conference (via SempreMilan.it). The manager was asked what he thinks about the Juventus situation, seeing as Milan’s situation in the standings has changed.

“Juventus? We need to stay focused on the things we can control. The sooner there is a definitive standings the better,” he stated.

Milan I don’t want to miss out on the Champions League as there is a lot of revenue to collect in that competition, as evidenced by this season (€125m thus far). On our Substack, we have analysed just what it will mean financially to miss out given the success this year.
