GdS: Pioli to welcome back crucial man during friendlies against Arsenal and Liverpool

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli will soon be able to call upon his number one goalkeeper Mike Maignan again, a report has claimed.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), Maignan is finally ready to put the double muscle injury behind him, one that kept him out for several weeks and also forced him to miss the World Cup with France.

His official return to competitive action with Milan will take place in the first game of the second part of the season against Salernitana early in January, but he is in fact expected to get playing time before that.

The paper claims that the Frenchman is expected to be on the pitch in the friendlies that will take place in Dubai against Premier League sides Arsenal and Liverpool, which will be important in getting the former Lille man back into game rhythm ahead of Serie A resuming.
