After a frustrating period on the sidelines, Francesco Camarda is close to making his return to Serie A action with Lecce.
Calciomercato.com write that after a long hiatus, Camarda can once again see the light at the end of the tunnel. He is nearing his return to the pitch, with Lecce battling to avoid relegation back down to Serie B.

The Salento club have announced themselves that Camarda is on the right track in a press release on their website, with his full return just a few days away.
“US Lecce announces that the footballer Francesco Camarda, after completing his rehabilitation in Milan following a right shoulder injury, will be at the complete disposal of coach Eusebio Di Francesco from Tuesday, April 21st,” it reads.
A crucial finale
Camarda suffered a shoulder injury at the beginning of 2026, a problem that initially seemed like it could keep him out of action for a few weeks. After further evaluation, however, it was decided that the 18-year-old would undergo surgery permanently resolve the pain in his right shoulder.
His last official appearance dates back to January 6th, in the home match against Roma. In light of Lecce’s official statement, Eusebio Di Francesco will be able to welcome Camarda back again after the home match against Fiorentina at the weekend.
However, the Italy U21 star will not be immediately available to the Salento-based club, as he will need to recover his fitness. It’s therefore unlikely that he’ll be back on the pitch next weekend, but could target the games against Pisa and Juventus in early May.
It hasn’t been an easy season for Camarda on loan with Lecce. He often found himself in contention with Stulic in the first part of the season, still managing to make 17 appearances in Serie A, for a total of 634 minutes played (an average of around 37 per game).
His only goal of the season with them came on September 28th, at the end of the match against Bologna, when he scored the goal that made it 2-2 in the 95th minute. Once the season is done, he will be evaluated by Massimiliano Allegri, and a decision will be made on 2026-27.

better thank fulkrug, nkunku, and gimenez. gets annoying complaining about this, but karl got minutes at bayern, yamal at barca, and sent our golden boy to lecce…
My understanding is ACM wanted him to go to Serie B. He didn’t want to go. Sometimes players screw themselves. What would a year playing regularly at the age of 18 in B have hurt? You can’t compare him to other players despite calling him the Golden Boy. He needs to prove it.
