Player Ratings: AC Milan 1-3 Liverpool – captain fails to lead; several crumble

AC Milan failed to get a good result ahead of the Derby della Madonnina as Liverpool prevailed yet again at San Siro, this time 1-3. Several players struggled, with only a few doing okay, and below are the ratings for the Rossoneri.

If you haven’t already, make sure to check out how we decide the player ratings. From the scale to what affects the rating, we have compiled everything there.

Starting XI

Maignan (5): He was rescued by the bar twice, made some good stops, but arguably should have done a lot better on the first goal. There’s no doubt about that, but he also could have got some more help on the second (or should he have come out there too?). Made a big save at the start of the second half which probably should help the rating, but then again the damage was already done.

Calabria (4.5): The captain struggled big time especially in the first half, aside from having a hand in the goal, as he was beaten several times on the right flank and also committed a very silly foul to concede a free kick. And on that free kick, Liverpool scored the equaliser. The positioning wasn’t there.

Tomori (6): Perhaps could have done better on the first goal, even if it was difficult to defend against, but he did well on other occasions to keep Milan from conceding more. Especially one sliding block/clearance when Liverpool looked certain to strike again.

Pavlovic (5): Honestly, Milan should force him to just train his passing for one week straight, because he really struggles when under pressure. We saw that on the third goal, which he gifted to Liverpool, and on several other occasions. He was also one of the players in and around Van Dijk on the second goal.

Hernandez (5.5): He was calm and collected when going forward, at least trying to get Milan out of dire straits, but the defending still leaves a bit to be desired. He was among the better players defensively but we also cannot turn a blind eye to the fact that Salah hit the bar twice (and more chances were created down that flank).

Fofana (5): To be fair, he grew into the game but only when Liverpool slowed down the tempo and stopped the high press. When the latter was applied, and at a time when Milan really needed more control in midfield, the Frenchman crumbled a bit with sloppy passing and this gave Liverpool some opportunities on the break.

Loftus-Cheek (5): There were a couple of good moments, but also some very heavy touches from the Englishman tonight. Furthermore, Milan lost the midfield battle big time and he had a hand in this, especially when the game was reduced to 50-50 duels that Liverpool always seemed to win.

Pulisic (6 – MOTM): It was a great goal with a great strike, but above all fantastic awareness to see that Konate hesitated. The goal is a large part of the rating because he faded a bit as the game went on even if he, to his credit, at least tried.

Reijnders (5.5): He didn’t have as much success as he would have liked between the lines, I’m sure, and the few opportunities he had in front of goal were missed. That being said, the way Milan play at times didn’t exactly help him.

Leao (5): Aside from one great dribbling run and one or two trademark Rafa runs on the left flank, we really didn’t see much from the winger. Milan really struggled to play out of the back in the middle of the first half and Leao could have been the one to help solve that. Could is the key word, as he didn’t involve himself anywhere near enough.

Morata (6): The Spaniard worked incredibly hard and had a big hand in the first goal, showcasing what he can do in the build-up (officially getting an assist). He continued to do well with the little he had to work with, so he gets a pass here.

Substitutes

Torriani (6): He couldn’t do anything about the goal and made a couple of good stops later on, as well as a good intervention high up the pitch. Given the circumstances, we can only give him a pass here.

Abraham (6): Looked very lively with his dribbling and above all speed, making life difficult at times for the Liverpool defenders. Just like the Venezia display, encouraging even if the result didn’t go our way.

Emerson Royal (N/A): We didn’t see enough to give him a rating.

Gabbia (N/A): We didn’t see enough to give him a rating.

Okafor (N/A): We didn’t see enough to give him a rating.

  1. Disappointing, especially on defensive solidity. Milan’s set piece defense is just abysmal and disorganized. No one is taking responsibility. On the bright side, Pulisic looked really bright, and is continuing to write his name among the stars of this club. Tammy also showed promise. But the result outweighs the positive.

    1. Big pulisic fan and he can be dangerous but the amount of turnovers should negate the 1 goal he had.

Just because someone scores doesn’t mean they had a good game.

        1. I think that in fariness to CP, who did NOT have one of his best matches, almost every time he received the ball, it was sent to him with his back to goal and at least one defender on him, leaving no option but to try to dribble in little or no space or ping the ball backwards, whereas the ball was sent in front of Leao, so that he could run, probably a dozen times. Leao had Theo behind him; CP had Calabria, who rarely pushed forward because he was getting killed.

CP had one really bad decision that nearly got punished, but other than that, his control was good and his passing was fairly good, but his teammates did VERY little to help him.

  2. Ratings should be at least 1 points down for all players.

Back in short past, team with Brahim Diaz, Messias and Tonali, played much more with heart and strong fight. Managed to pass some stronger teams than now Liverpool.

Today we have again hospital, conceding too much like amateurs. Liverpool did not do anything special, except accurate passes and precise corners.

      1. No, their biggest mistake they will made is firing fonseca and bring back pioli or hire mazzari. Good luck for this season, i heard from you guys that this club can win the league with this new team. Its like a joke to my ear Lol

    1. Liverpool is a really good team. I mean they can go really far in this tournament.

The pace and technique they show is really good. We could have let at least 3 more goals in.

    2. Liverpool is a really good team. I mean they can go really far in this tournament.

The pace and technique they show is really good. We could have let at least 3 more goals in.

    1. Italian teams in the past had been known for having the toughest defence to crack we have never been the quickest but we were the meanest when it comes to holding that back line how have we tossed that value out the window? I think we need a more defensively efficient coach to teach these guys how to position themselves and then catch opponents on the counter which was what Milan did in their title winning season. Our current play is without tactics I think conte or even the crazy mourinho would have been a better coach for this team

  3. I give everyone a 3, except for Torriani who did nothing wrong, Abraham who already looks the most dynamic player we’ve had in years, and Gabbia for just basically not being Tomori.

    Absolutely awful.

  4. I was thinking if we survive this pressure then maybe get another goal in we’ll be ok. But the pressure never stopped. And italian teams dont play this way, so our guys, already static AF, looked even worse against it.
I blame italy and their turtle speed of change

    1. F outa here you EPL wanker. If you actually watch Serie A you’d know it’s fast and tactical and lately full of goals.
Can’t be said of that garbage league in England the EPL with their mindless running at full speed the whole match.

  5. You say the first goal was difficult to defend against, but everyone watching, even the commentators, saw it coming. Without a clue on what you’re doing at set pieces it’s difficult, but not so much if you’ve had decent coaching.

  6. We should stop with the this or that defender should have done better on the 1st or 2nd goal. Those goals were Maignans fault. On both goals he hesitates and that area suppose to be his. Making couple other saves doesn’t negate the damage he did. Allowing 2 headers from inside 5 meters on lobs is amateur hour from a goalkeeper.
Pulisic, Theo Tomori, Morata and Abraham are the only ones that can leave this game with their head up, the rest were not good.
The experiment with Reijnders playing at 10 should also stop. It’s not that he plays bad there but more so that he is needed more in the build up play. He is the only midfielder Milan has that is comfortable on the ball, pass resistant and can actually create. Fofana isn’t a creator. Let him just do the dirty work and let Reijnders manage the games until January when they better get another midfielder that can play in front of the defense and create. Adrian Bernabe.
Major difference between Milan and Liverpool on counter attacks. Liverpool players move the ball while Milan players hold on to the ball until they lose it even though they have wide open teammates. Theo, Leao, Loftus Cheek, Reijnders, all do it. Theo is tge worst in that aspect. He always makes on extra touch that ends up in lost ball and a counter attack for the other team.

    1. Agreed about them holding the ball too long. Leao had that really nice run with the ball but he tried to dribble the entire team when he had I believe Pulisic wide open on the right and didn’t pass. Theo did something similar later in the game. These little things can make a huge difference in a match.

    2. Agreed about Maignan.

Disagree about Reijnders he offers absolutely nothing and should probably dropped and replaced with….oh we have no other midfielders.

    3. Agree about MM.

However, how is Pav not glued to the back of VVD? VVD is huge, clever and dangerous. We need someone huge at least.

I’m tired of the Calabria haters. Every time I focused on him he was 2 on 1. It is clear that Liverpool brought that with them. Where is Fofana?

Calabria instructions are to be upfield. My assumption is that Fofana as a pivot and nominal 6 would then be there to cover the extra/early man on the counter.

But also where is Puli? Was he told not to track back as much? Maybe he should have been subbed out earlier because fatigue?

Royal – you didn’t see enough, but I have. The guy came from EPL but plays at the speed of my college kid both mentally and physically. He is a liability and is like to see Barts brought up to send a message.

Rafa played like he was disinterested. If I see this a few more times my conclusion will be he doesn’t want the ball against top teams because he cannot dribble past on skates. he did put in a better shift on defense but the bar is low and needs to be raised.

Theo was effort and I think he should get a 6. He’s a defender and he put in a solid shift.

Tomorri … He’s clearly lost his mojo without the speedy, intelligent Kalulu next to him. I miss you Pierre.

Tammy off the bench was what we needed. Morata to 10 was an interesting experiment but he was clearly cooked by then. I hope we see it again when he is fully fit.

The punched us in the mouth with the equalizer and we rilled on the ground like Theo rather than jumping up and running harder like Puli. I hope this is not who we are this season.

      1. Sorry to double but I forgot to mention another bright spot.

Torriani was composed and effective in an emergency debut. He was definitely up for the moment and I’m happy to see a youth player come good like that.

He is hoping he can keep his head in the Derby.

      2. Ya the witch hunt on Calabria is so stale. The tactics never involve helping him out. Usually we see players double team to neutralize wingers, but not Milan. The midfielders rarely seen tracking back on time.

The 3 men midfield were never able to track back, hold the ball comfortably or contribute much to the attack.

  7. Seems to be a lot of miscommunication happening on the pitch. Ik we have new players that need time, but our defense lets us down every game. 2 goals off of set pieces that were almost identical but one wasn’t a corner. We have the attack, but something isn’t right with our build up play, midfield seem no existent the first half. Second half was better, but too many times players get the ball and just hold it because no one is either making runs or communicating with each other. Aside from about 4-5 players, the rest are not at the level Milan demands

      1. Never. If you compare with Serie A teams, maybe.
Comparing with this Liverpool squad that costs at least 300M more than ours?
Even the algorithms would spit in your face.

  8. This f’ing website. I wrote a long comment but of course it didn’t go thru, and then I was posting too quickly so I’ll shorten it. Really disappointing.
Bright spots were Pulisic and Abraham. Horror show by Calabria. Out of position always and gets beaten easily 1v1 every time. Not sure why our defenders and midfielder were so high up the pitch, especially after we took an early lead. Passing out of the back is a problem when none of your defenders can pass the ball. Especially Pavlovic, he needs serious work on his passing.
Many of the problems that were here last season are still here, including not being able to defend set pieces. Need to turn it around quick and a win this weekend will go along way. Looking forward to seeing more of this young keeper, and Abraham needs to be our starter. Forza Milan

  9. Pavlovic didn’t jump. he has to jump and he can head away the corner. Instead his feet stayed on the ground and Virgil jumped and easily scored. Pavlovic also horribly gave the ball away setting up a break leading to the third goal (and he did terribly getting back and defending on that break that he caused).
Calabria was also bad; but how does Pavlovic get a higher rating than Davide??? Makes no sense.

  10. With Fonseca in charge I would not have high hopes this season. We were outclassed in every regard. Shame! The sooner we fire him the better our chances of salvaging the season would be. I see nothing in his tactics or style or approach that would warrant any trust, hope or more favorable attitude on my part.

  11. Please can someone explain to me why there’s not even a glimpse of what we saw during preseason. I don’t know if I’m the only one bothered by it. Did the coach change his whole strategy or the players are refusing to do what he’s asked them to do? Where’s the purposeful press and quick playing out from the back?
Also, Pav kinda looks overrated to me and I hope it’s just a bad game. Fofs is just not looking like the player you pay €25m for especially as he was on the last year of his contract. Emerson? Well I apologise cuz there’s a part of me that was thinking fans were overreacting when we were linked to him. I don’t knoW if Leao will ever be a big game player. Then it looks like Tammy will be the signing of the season.
I was against appointing Fonsy but when the team showed what they did in preseason I kinda softened on my stance… Right now? I don’t know really. How did we go from the preseason display to this?

    1. I’ll give you an answer to your first question. We played his style/tactics in preseason cos it was younger players and less established players and they quickly understood what he was trying to implement. Now the senior players that have been deeply clouded by Pioli’s style/tactics are back and they’re struggling to rid themselves of the Pioli’s players walking around and waiting for the counter tactics. First two games of the season, he tried to play his style but because of our(fans) impatience, he basically went back to using Pioli’s tried and failed tactics. Check his post game presser, the man clearly had a plan but what I watched today was players going back to Pioli’s tactics. I’m not a fan of us hiring Fonseca but I feel that patience is needed with him.
We need proven directors, not Ibrahimovic.

      1. Great observation, you said it better. People feel it’s just pre-season. A game that is implemented in pre-season matches can be carried out in actual season matches. I feel apart from the starters going back to pioli kind of football, in pre-season players tend to play without fear since it’s just a trial kind of match, so confidence will be high.

  12. Seriously, though, what’s up with Pavlovic kicking the ball straight into opponents’ legs at least five times? Is he incapable of clearing it properly?

Anyway, the whole club is in shambles, so individual ratings are meaningless. If we hadn’t conceded from set-pieces, we would’ve done some other madness. No identity, no leaders, no winning spirit, just 10 strangers walking on the pitch + Pulisic.

  13. It’s clear that the players don’t believe in fonseca. Especially leao and theo. Leao walked straight to the tunnel.

The game was brutal let’s be honest. Besides pulisic, Morata, Abraham nobody looked to care. They didn’t press Liverpool at all when they had the ball, they couldn’t make a pass. All they did was pass it back to the defence or side to side.

What happened to the way they played in preseason? We haven’t seen a single game where they’ve even looked like they know what they’re doing. It honestly goes to show what a manager does for a team. look at Conte, he’s got an average team and they’re in first and the players are sacrificing themselves for His style.
Milan on the other hand all preety boys thinking their too good or something. 5 games into this season and I’m already done with this team

  14. Painful match but I’ll nevertheless give it a few more matches time before I’ll start calling for heads to roll but this was tough to watch. Probably made it worse that I have a friend who is a huge Liverpool fan who kept messing with me throughout the match 😀 To be fair before we met today I had told him that even if we couldn’t win we could always break their legs and even that we couldn’t do.
Kidding aside it was a bad game and Liverpool clearly deserved to win and it could easily have gotten a lot worse than it did.
A win or a great game and a draw against Inter will at least soothen me to some extent but we’ll see.

    1. Yeh I can’t see Inter getting anything other than a win at this point. In fact this Liverpool game felt like deja vu playing them – we start all bright and perky for 5 min and then turn into a bunch of wallflowers who don’t know what to do with the ball. Plus Inter would’ve learned their lesson by starting 40mil Fratessi in their last game and will keep him on the bench, unfortunately.

      1. Same thing I was wondering, started brightly, pressed Liverpool well, played like Milan of old, scored one goal them switched mentality like a relegation battling team or as if the we’re in the 85th minutes of the match. Liverpool were leading 3-1 and were still playing as if they were the losing side. That’s how Milan has fallen. I wasn’t surprised Liverpool scored two goals that first half. When you score a single goal and activate defensive mode or sit too deep especially against a good team you are definitely handling them the momentum which is bad.

  15. Apart Torriani and Pulisic, everyone should be ashamed. Utter embarrassment. When we signed Morata I was told his lack of goals didn’t matter, because he’s a leader with experience…anonymous and poor tonight…

Midfield was a joke, Ruben and Fofana can’t retain possession..hell they just give the ball away, heavy touches, bad pass choices and Fofana’s first touch is a 40 yard pass.

We have no answers in possession, we look frightened, we pass sideways, sideways, panic, backwards and lose the ball. Or it’s an aimless punt up the pitch with no result.

Emerson Royal us just a disaster. I’ve supported the club since 1987 and I think he’s the worst Milan player I’ve ever seen!!!

To finish on a positive..Pulisic, first class, excellent solo goal, if only we built in that in the first 15 mins when we had Liverpool on the ropes….Torriani..can’t praise this lad enough, he looked unphased and assured against one of the best teams in Europe. Nothing he could do about the goal. Tomori gets a pass, he played well at times, good interceptions and tried to get us going.

    1. Looks like you were right. I thought Morata did well with his pressing and considering no one was feeding him the ball but Abraham really it up a notch. At one point I thought I was watching Leao.

  16. There is no hope to save this season unless Fonseca gives up on his ideas and try to adapt to the players he has or we find a coach more suitable for those players.
He said he wanted to dominate the game with the ball and than he has accepted to have Pavlovic and Tomori has starting CB and Fofana as n6. Those are not necessarily bad players, but you can’t play this time of football. The team is made to play an aggressive vertical football. Not positional game.

  17. 1. We don’t have a CAPTAIN. We have an Average Joe with an armband. I don’t care what BS Maldini’s Heir says.

    2. I put this blame entirely on the coach. 100%. Milan was very predictable, falling to the same mistakes we have had since last season. Liverpool did not have to do anything extraordinary to beat us. Fonseca has fixed nothing. Absolutely nothing.

    3. After failing to properly motivate the team, our leaders, senior players have failed to step up in big games once again. Again, same problems from last season.

    4. This is a talented team, with many good pieces. But the fault for how miserable we look so far has to start with the management choosing to appoint Fonseca to lead this team to begin with.

    5. I don’t know where we go from here. Maybe Fonseca will figure it out in time. Maybe he will figure out when it’s too late. or maybe he won’t figure it out at all and the management will keep him on the bench the entire season, therefore wasting it …

    1. Pretty much agree with most of this. However I would point the finger at recruitment. When you base your signings on ‘value’ is shows. From tonight’s display Ruben and Fofana don’t belong anywhere near the CL. Pavlovic after a decent start looked out of his depth. Your best point is the senior players though, nothing from them. I’m genuinely thinking it’s time to sell Leao and Theo and build with the futuro in mind. Leao is too lazy…Liverpools attack pressed from the front, Leao just strolls about..

    2. “This is a talented team”
This is a bit of a stretch. From a technical point of view, Milan are at the same level as West Ham; far behind Liverpool at any way you see it. Yeah there are some good elements, but most are either technically very limited or have a blatant lack of tactical intelligence. Unless a good mercato is done, this club can’t go far. I mean, who is supposed to win trophies on a regular basis with a central mildfield made of RLC and Fofana. Who on earth puts the captain trust on Calabria or dreams that Pavlovic is reliable.

      1. This is what happens when your Mercato is based around ‘value’ player like RLC, Fofana, Pavlovic, just aren’t good enough. You pay for what you get..200m on this crap. In hindsight could have got Ugarte, Ricci, Koopmeiners…

        But no…moneyball bullsh!t prevails

      2. Napoli had less than world beaters when they won the Scudetto by storm. Its about who can get the best out of the talent we have.

Gasp beat Liverpool away with a fraction of a talent in the team he had.

          1. I don’t know where you’re trying to go with this argument…. Milan won the scudetto before Inzaghi’s wonder boys with a worse team on paper than we have now.

    3. 1. Don’t care what I say but how is it the team and suddenly become leaderless? Calabria has captained the side through one of its most successful periods in the past 15 years so what’s suddenly changed?

      2. Agreed. And the directors. It goes directors then coach then players and with the first two doing such a bad job it’s hard to know where to begin with the players.

      3. Demands leadership whilst slagging them off…

      4. Wait….talented team? I assume you’re mostly referring to all the players we signed after we won the Scudetto?

      5. I can’t remember whether you were a Pioli out person but last season we were at least in games and even dominated a few….

    4. I agree with most of your points. We have good players but I don’t know if they just can’t figure out how fonseca wants to play but there’s 0 chemistry and 0 ambition. Our best players and players who have been with the team the longest are the biggest babies and bringing the morale down. Leao will never be world class because his mentality and especially in big games is brutal. Pulisic is our best player hands down. I think this should be the last season of leao, theo or both of them.

I’ve never liked someone like Conte but I wanted him to come to this team because players respect him and players will die for him. Fonseca hasn’t won anything ever so why should players be motivated with him? I was actually shocked and excited with how we were playing in preseason but present day I miss pioli so much and I don’t even know what it is. Are the players just not giving their all for fonseca? Are his tactics worse than pioli’s? I haven’t seen milan this poor In a very long time. At least when milan would be poor with pioli they’d show glimpses of being a good team. It’s been 5 matches with fonseca and I can’t say anything good about this team at all. Individualy yes, but definitely not as a team

      1. This is the problem with this BS speculation about player ability.

First none of the players are playing anywhere near their potential so I’ve no idea where people are getting these completely arbitrary ratings.

However when trying to figure out a player’s potential it helps if you look at what their levels were when they were playing close to that. This is where proven winners come in. We know the Scudetto players are capable of winning a Scudetto because…

Players that have come in from abroad and won things abroad in proper leagues (not Serbia) are also safer bets. RLC, Pulisic and Morata are all proven winners.

The rest is pure and unadulterated guesswork. Case in point, Reijnders has won nothing, and has been central to our midfield collapse since he arrived and played in most of the games, yet people constantly bang on about how amazing he is.

Wild speculation is given more credence than actual verifiable recent historic facts. Zero loyalty is shown to players who have actually delivered for the club. Blind optimism for any old randomer that has shown up in the last few seasons.

    5. Agree with all the points – Fonseca is clueless but it doesn’t help when your captain was singing You’ll Never Walk Alone in the tunnel.

Calabria’s fan club on here do a better job of defending him than he does the opposition on the pitch. Yet again we witnessed another masterclass from our “captain”… giving away a Thiaw-esque free kick that led to the first goal, looking like a lost bunny as Gakpo ran circles around him before Salah fired it off the post, floundering all at sea (again) for the third goal so Pavlovic had to try and cover for him, countless other c*ckups which all in all gets him the lowest rating on here out of the whole team (again)

And we got the derby coming up in which he’ll probably lose his head again and get sent off… Yup, that’s real captain material right there guys….

“Oh shut up – you just hate Calabria and love Royal!”… Okay, guys, let’s keep running with that drivel. 🙂

      1. “for the third goal so Pavlovic had to try and cover for him”

        Are you high?

Pavlovic was high up the pitch, full backs were wide and forward as we were trying to equalise.
Pavlovic passes straight to Liverpool and then runs around like a headless chicken.

I’m not defending Calabria but Pavlovic was 100% responsible for that goal and at least 50% for the other 2 goals.

        1. I can’t remember dude, maybe it wasn’t the 3rd goal. I just remember seeing Calabria way out of position scrambling back to try and help Pavlovic who was were he should’ve been.

“I’m not defending Calabria”… that’s all you’ve been doing since the season started…

          1. Calabria is better than Emerson, Kalulu is better than both.

Pavlovic may make it but he is taking a huge step up in class and it shows. He’s not ready for that level yet

  18. If Milan goes far in any competition (even Seria A) this season, it’s a fluke. The team is still disjointed, so much space, the connection from attack to midfield to defence is nonexistent.
Fonseca is just nothing and we’d have to sack him soon, cus we’d get eaten by inter, there’s just too much space, and players not tracking back or picking any man just gets me howling every time…

  19. Mike a 5????? LOL. Are you serious. Yes he should have came out and got that cross on the first goal – but that aside if not for him it would have been 6-1 easily.

Our great mid was completely overrun. Absolute trash. This is what happens when you play a real team and not a weak side like Venezia. Liverpool completely dominated the middle of the park. To think we could had had players like Szobozlai for 25M but nah we wouldn’t spend the $$. This is what happens when you see a side that actually pays for quality players vs a side that just goes searching for bargains. The difference in class was evident for all to see.

How in the world do you have Reindjers marking VVD on that corner kick??? He simply the Tiji aside and headed the ball in. Pavlovic needs to learn positioning. AND we got rid of Kalulu (who starts for Juve at RB) for a measly 3.5M loan- and kept Calabria and Emerson???? Hahahahaha!!! Another brilliant move from Furla I Moncada and Ibra (the “boss”). What a joke

Only silver lining is this may be one of the last games we see Fonseca in charge of

    1. Fonseca is not doing a great job, but it’s the management to blaim. Like you said, they only go for bargains. And I see Kalulu against PSV last night and he is better then Calabria and Emerson.

    2. Thank you Juro.
Thank you very much. You are not blind and can never be blind.

If not for maignan Sala would have had 4 goals to his name alone. And how ooo God how can anyone expect reinjders to mark Virgil. He looked like a pre-schooler next to him, not only that vvd broke away from him, and he did not even attempt to pursue.

Liverpool just kept up the pressure and punished us with set pieces. That their front 4 were always dangerous and ready to go.

  20. Frankly speaking, I don’t think I have ever seen a worse performance from a defender than Pavlovic tonight. I have not seen his other matches, but this one tonight was so bad. It is a big mistake that Milan bought him in a market rich with good defenders.

      1. Emerson is the worst player I have seen. If this was a government organisation there would be an investigation as to where those 15m went and where is Kalulu?

Pavlovic was also majorly guilty in goals conceded in the league.
Today was a horror show. He should be 4th choice CB

      2. Pavlovic is a good stopper of the ball. He works hard.

He has to stop the ball as often as he does because of his passing.

Today he was like a fireman setting fires.

  21. Some people already super happy with the Venezia win as if it’s a scudetto win when that team is in the bottom of Serie A table lmao.

    But hey, good job management.

    Fonseca out!

      1. As Milan fans we will always be happy when Milan wins. But bruh wining against Venezia is like wining against Bari or Modena or any other Serie B team.. and we all saw how this game went – penalties and goalkeeper mistakes and to be honest I didn’t see anything so encouraging from Milan as a way of playing. When you look ahead what games are coming with Inter Lecce Udine and Leverkusen I’m about to cry

  22. F off criticising the captain.

It wasn’t his best game but he was nowhere near the worst player. Maignan basically cost us the game, Pavlovic is like Bambi on Ice, and we have no midfield to speak of.

But even that’s being harsh on the players. They all struggled. They don’t know what they’re doing out there and we simply have no midfield.

Midfield is the most important part of the pitch because it’s how you control games. Fofana lost 50:50 duels which is a disaster for a DM, RLC is not a CM, he was doing a perfectly fine job further up the pitch, Reijnders once again was a no show.

Our defence is completely exposed and our attack lacks service.

All they had to sign was a midfield general this summer and instead they went round the houses – again.

  23. This team is suffering from a lack of clear ideas, a lack of conviction, and a lack of leadership. It looks as if they met for the first time in the parking lot before the match. No courage from our defenders. No imagination going forward. I can stomach a 3-1 loss to Liverpool, but the performance and the attitude tonight was disturbing. I don’t even want to tune in Sunday….

  24. Just give up the season. Ever Sense Tonali have left, Milan concede goals like a Championship team. This team have no soul. People went crazy when I said that we should rather buy Calafiori then Zirkze and Pavlovic would be great as backup. In that way Calafiori could rotate With Theo and Pavlovic would play with Calafiori. Sold Calabria and brought Kayode and Cancelo. Brought Casadei and Chiesa with Rabiot then Sell Tomori, Thiaw and RLC next season and bring Scalvini and Tonali. Atalanta Owe us a favour after what we did for them with CDK. Fire Fonseca and bring De Zerbi. Do a statement signing like Osimhen, Suddenly we would see our beloved Milan with a soul and identity. This could be possible if we had’t a dumbass owner like Cheapinale and a embarrassing management with no attachment with the club.
    Maignan
Cancelo 20mil Tomori Calafiori 40 mil Theo
    Fofana 20mil Rabiot free
    Reijnders
    Pulisic. Osimhen 60-65 mil Leao

Torriani Kayode 15-20 mil Gabbia Pavlovic 15-18 mil Terracciano (third choice for both flanks.
Bennacer Musah Casadei 15 mil Zeroli Liberali
Chukweze Morata 13 mil Chiesa 15 mil
    Tot 220 mil

    Coach De Zerbi
Sell Vasquez 5 mil Calabria 10, Florenzi 5 mil and don’t be embarrassing and buy Emerson Flop Kululu 20 mil Pellegrino 5 mil Simic 5 mil Thats min 45 – 50 mil. Tomori and Thiaw 60-65 mil. Pobega 10 mil, Adli 10 mil, Saelmakers 10 mil, Maldini 10 mil, Romero 5 mil CDK 22 mil. Tot ca 65 mil. Let’s say we would get min 150. Plus 50 from CL that Cheapinale allow us to spend.
Next season 30 mil Scalvini after he’s injury and the favour for Atalanta and Tonali
This is a team that would be a nightmare for all teams and this team would challenge for serie A and CL. This is what a team looks and what the fans except after a clown like Cheapinale say he wants to win and hate losing then say he wants to bring to former glory. This what Milan should aim for but sadly he just lies and he says that he Hates losing and apparently that’s a lie because we haven’t win over Inter after this clown bought Milan.

  25. People are crucifying Mike. He avoided not one, not two, but 4 goals by Liverpool. Tomori encroached onto him in the first goal; he had no space left to clear the ball; it’s incredible how people didn’t seem to notice it (the pagelle for other sites did notice it). The second goal, even though Mike could have done more, it’s hard to do something when your center backs allow the opponent to violently head the ball into your goal, unmarked. I’d give Mike a 6 or 6.5; sorry for him that he is again injured.

Pavlovic, some big mistakes but again, he is over-exposed every game from his companions’ failures. Didn’t you notice how Calabria was nowhere to be seen, always leaving space behind, always too late running back, so that even though the mistake for the third Liverpool goal started with Pavlovic, nobody was there to help him rescue it, and he tried but couldn’t recover. Still, that was a bad performance by Pavlovic.

Calabria, awful. When will people realize that despite being Italian, being with us for 9 years, and being the captain, Calabria is mediocre and getting worse, and at this point should no longer be starting? But then, Emerson Royal is even worse. I wish our stupid management hadn’t shipped Kalulu out; he can play RB better than both Calabria and Royal.

    Tomori, weak.

    Theo was flat indeed.

Fofana was very bad in first half. He did improve as the game went on. He seems to be still off-form. I don’t think Fofana is as bad as what he’s been showing. He is one player I do hope will improve. He needs time. He doesn’t have a reputation for being mediocre. It’s one thing to criticize Emerson after just a few games, because EVERYBODY except Fonseca and our management knows that Emerson is mediocre. Tottenham says thanks. But Fofana is not mediocre; he should still improve after he gels (new team, new league, new coach, off-form after barely training with Monaco during the long sales saga) so let’s give him some time before crucifying him.

RLC again in disappearing act. He is the most inconsistent Milan player. One good game, five bad games; one good game, five bad games… rinse and repeat.

Reijnders wasn’t that bad. One of the few that tried.

Morata was actually good. He got NO SERVICE whatsoever but still tried and his assist was great.

Puli, great goal. He did fade afterwards.

Rafa, poor again; did have one good play at the very end when he hit the post, but that’s not enough.

Subs: Torriani, bravo. Emerson actually not as bad as in other games but not good either. That’s all we can hope from him: never being good, at best not being bad (usually he is bad). Abraham, another one who gets a pass. Other subs like Musah and Okafor didn’t have any time to show anything.

In summary, I’d give a pass to Mike, Morata, Puli, Reijnders, Abraham and Torriani. The others, pretty bad.

    ——–

On paper we have good players, but we also have an awful coach so it’s hard for the good players to shine if the tactics are all wrong. This loser again threw his players under the bus in post-game conference, saying they made wrong decisions and didn’t follow his plans.

Only a jerk like José Mourinho does that. Pioli has always praised his players in post-game conferences even when they didn’t deserve it, and always blamed himself for the defeats rather than the players, which is classy, and is why Pioli was beloved by the players and Fonseca apparently is not. Fonseca hasn’t fixed any of the problems left by Pioli. None.

    1. The fact that Calabria has been at MILAN for 9 years including 5 years where we won a Scudetto and qualified multiple times for the Champions League is the evidence that he is not mediocre because no mediocre player in the history of the world has achieved those exceptional things.

And if you cannot see that, if you cannot appreciate how difficult it is to do the things that Milan did under Pioli, then we’re going nowhere.

Because you think we can just sign any old randomers and win stuff because winning stuff is easy.

It takes teams to win and Calabria has been a central part of a winning side for a long time. If the wheels are coming off a successful team then probably best to look at the later arrivals and the new coach who have mostly won nothing.

        1. Hahaha – can’t you see that Cafubria has been with the team for almost a decade and helped us win all those trophies and leads the team like a true captain and hardly ever puts a foot wrong??? For the love of God wake up, man!

      1. Bro enough with Calabria – are you his brother or something? Nobody cares about Calabria. He is an average player that really should not be our captain and certainly wouldn’t be if he wasn’t Italian. Hes not a UCL starting player that’s for sure. He’s still better than Emerson – but that really isn’t saying much at all.

        1. He literally is a UCL starter player having started all the way to the semi-finals of the Champions League.

Whatever is in your head doesn’t change that recorded historic fact.

    2. Sorry ‘Reijnders wasn’t that bad.’

      What was ‘good’ about Reijnders?

Again – what did he do?

How can the same person who believes Calabria is ‘mediocre’ also be impressed with Reijnders?

I have no idea what your standards are.

If you were someone who demanded world class players in every position, I’d sort of understand but you seem to accept abject mediocrity from some players and no others.

      1. Saying “Reijnders wasn’t that bad” is not the same as being “impressed with Reijnders.” I just gave him a pass. He didn’t make major mistakes like many of his companions did, and he had some worthy attempts at helping the offense. He was VERY far from being among the worst players tonight. Not brilliant, but he gets a pass.

Calabria is indeed mediocre. Sure, he was better in the past, but he is washed, has a ceiling, and is getting worse. The past is the past. Currently he shouldn’t be starting. Most people see it, except for you and for some other blind people.

        1. Reijnders wasn’t available to help the team get out of our own half!

He and his fellow midfielders were and continue to be the reason why Milan are getting overrun in defence and can’t link up with the attack.

Calabria is the least of our worries and might actually need to be a solution in midfield if we can’t get it sorted. Unfortunately we don’t have any other RBs (basically) so all round this is a great squad!

  26. Gabbia and Tomori should be our starting defenders.

Pulisic is our best player. Just in his movement alone, he is superior to Leao.

Team doesn’t move the ball fast enough. Theo, RLC, Reindeer and Fofana carry the ball more than they should.

Every team terrorizes TAA on the right side except us.

Liverpool pressed us to death. They did it better than us and recovered the ball.

Nothing more boring than a team that only passes the ball back to the CB’s. 90% of our possession was our two cb’s holding the ball with no options.

    1. 100%. Liverpool’s aggressive pressing got us into soooo much trouble every time. We couldn’t even make it to the halfway-line! And in return, Liverpool’s passes were quick, accurate and powerful. Like they wanted to hurt us. And they did.

The superiority of Pool didn’t even show in the final result. It could have easily ended 1-5 too. And it wouldn’t have been an “unfair result”. They were 10x better. In everything. This game proved we are millions miles behind the best teams in Europe.

We might have a couple of top players but that doesn’t make up for NOT PLAYING as a team. Did you btw see any Liverpool players walking on the pitch uninterested? I didn’t either. I wonder why…

  27. Honestly this remind me of giampaolo. If fonzy lose again derby ,better change him with italian coach like sarri . Maybe cannot make scudetto or other trophy but atleast sarri can help get squad finish top 4 as he already know ACM player like RLC. Tammy prove he is play with grinta more than capitano even capello admit that. Loan kalulu to juve are big mistake ,as we know capitano & emerson strugle and bad perform. Pavlovic need good mentor defender, he is bad at decision making

  28. I have seen the feature, its no good ;). And cammooooooon!???? have you ever seen an atmosphere like that in San Siro for such a game???? They probably hoped British tourist will go to see Liverpool…

  29. P.S.
Fonfana was actually quite good. Leao had his worse game in a long while. RLC is Lakaka in the middle. Pulisic, the new Milan icon, all hail :D:D. I keep and open bet that we will see no good as long as Pulisic is in the team.

    1. If they let go of Fonseca, I think it’s time to bring in someone like Tuchel. I don’t like Sarri as a coach and I don’t like any other options unless you’re going to bring in Koop lol

      1. Conceição is a good option. He is a winner; 12 trophies in 14 seasons. He has always made Porto punch above their weight. He was able to grant to Porto some UCL success which is saying a lot, with a modest roster.

I hope Fonseca is fired and Conceição is brought in.

        1. Im Portuguese and would personaly prefere him for the national team. I don’t trust our current coach to be able to win, and with the talent we have we should be in the running.

  30. Maignan should have done better with those goals, Calabria was calamity, Emerson royal the luckiest footballer on earth, how can anybody in their right senses bought these gabbage? Pavlovic overrated, Tomori jittery a times, Theo just ok, mieldfield was completely outrun, Fofana couldn’t even have a decent tackle and cannot even distribute without error, RLC big for nothing as usual, Reijnders was poor, Pulicik apart from the goal he was equally poor, Leao golden boy did ok can be better, the mildfield was non existent so he lacked service most times, few flashes here and there, morata no service, Tammy impressive

    1. Tammy was impressive because everyone in the prem puts so much pressure on TAA because he is not that great at 1v1s. Tammy looked like a complete winger when Leao looked like a Spezia winger.

  31. It’s a shame what this management did to pur club. Im not even going to talk aboit individual players because not many shiners tonight. We had a great young core to build on, and what does this management do, destroys that core instead of building on it. Prime ben was way better than these fools we have now in midfield. Young tonali was better than these players we have now. Diaz was a lot more creative than all of these midfielders that we have now. For God’s sake we couldn’t even get out of our own half in our own stadium. Why did crappbird didn’t replace maldini with someone better is beyond me. Instead appointed real amateurs. But its ok i guess for some fans here, as long as we beat seria c material teams like Venezia.

    1. Today TJ has been subpar, starved of good passing channels – Liverpool closed the midfield down and each time Reijnders got the ball he had two players on him immediately. Nothing you can do with marking that tight, Einstein.

But presumably you would see that if you actually understood what you were looking at, having been a Milan fan as long as you have been.

BUT. Reijnders on his off day is still head and shoulders better than Calabria could ever be on his best day, even if Jesus came down and touched him on his shoulder!

And the fact that you don’t understand that just proves you understand jack s]-[!T about talent when you see (or in your case don’t see) it.

      That’s it.

      1. Interesting excuses….

So basically we had no midfield tonight (like most nights since Reijnders arrived at the club).

This is where having a player who is almost certainly not world class or anything like it is so damaging.

        We have no outlet.

At least when RLC plays in that position he might win a free kick or play a first time pass to move the ball.

        And he’s actually available.

Reijnders is nowhere to be seen most of the time.

He is a big gaping hole in our midfield.

It amazes me how people don’t see it. Before he arrived we used to dominant in midfield with the likes of Krunic, Tonali and Bennacer. That was the secret to our run in the Champions League where we dominated Tottenham and held our own against an in form Napoli. Even last season with Krunic at the start we still managed to control games like against Newcastle.

Since Krunic was frozen out and the team has had to rely on Reijnders our midfield has been completely overrun.

For me this is his last chance at Milan. If he doesn’t do something soon he needs to be dropped and if he doesn’t step up this season he needs to be sold.

          1. I don’t watch the Netherlands but I hear he does well for them.

I don’t know and it’s the one thing that gives me hope.

I hate criticising individual players and it kills me when the exact same player performs better for their country or when they move to another club.

But I cannot get away from the fact that FOR MILAN (and only know Milan) he has done virtually nothing despite starting most of the games since he arrived. And our midfield has been completely overrun like against Liverpool.

I want him to do well. When he made that offside run I thought to myself this might be his night. But then he faded and he offered absolutely nothing after that.

I really hope he turns it around.

          2. “I hate criticising individual players ”

Oh I dunno ‘cos reading you b*tch constantly about e.g. Reijnders gives out the complete opposite vibes.

        1. I think you are missing a very important factor in your judgement which is the coach impact and game style.

Just look at Napoli now and how they played with Rudi Garcia. The same players who won a Scudetto turned into a garbage squad with Rudi then now back to a golden squad with Conte.

Reijnders is a great player with Koeman in the Netherlands, that’s a fact.

          1. Preaching to the converted.

This is the No 1 reason I rarely criticise individual players.

And under Fonseca it is clear that none of the players are playing anywhere near their potential.

But Pioli generally got more players to play closer to their potential, and Reijnders did very little under him even though he backed him to start in most games.

I am not writing him or any other players off. I want any and all Milan players to reach their potential. Nobody will be more annoyed when he ends up setting the world on fire.

But I am losing patience with him, and it’s galling to see other players criticised when Reijnders rarely steps up.

          2. Exactly! That’s what I said up there: “On paper we have good players, but we also have an awful coach so it’s hard for the good players to shine if the tactics are all wrong.” Reijnders plays much better for the Netherlands, under a good coach. Theo plays much better for France (did in the Euro, not so in the recent Nations League games but that’s just because Theo was exhausted and off-form). Maignan plays much better for France because he isn’t constantly bombarded with shots and 1 v 1 against unmarked players so he has more calm and more form to save shots.

A good coach makes a difference; your example of Napoli with Spalletti, Garcia and Conte is a great demonstration of it. Good coach, Scudetto winners. Bad coach, 10th place. Good coach, back to beating everybody. Same players.

Recently the female US National Team was completely discredited after a terrible World Cup, unable to play as a team, with the women being discombobulated. They went to the Olympics expected to be eliminated in group phase. Well, meanwhile, they hired the best female coach in the world. She immediately had a huge impact on the team, and they won the Gold Medal.

It’s almost like a good coach makes a difference, LOL. Oh wait. It actually does!

With Fonseca, we won’t go anywhere. We won’t advance in the Champions League (it’s been calculated by mathematicians with 10,000 simulations that we need 16 points to advance, that is, we need to beat all other 5 less prestigious teams, and get a draw against either Liverpool (so much for that), Real or Leverkusen. First of all, we probably won’t beat all other teams, and we will probably lose to both Real and Leverkusen. Then, I doubt we will be in the top 5 in Serie A, and therefore will likely not make the next Champions League. Disaster.

        2. Don’t get why you love to hate on Reijnders just cause “he has won nothing”. That means nothing. Gery Neville won loads but was never a great player, and Berardi won nothing while being a great player. I don’t know what kind of bias this is but everyone here but you can see that he’s one of our only creative players in the center of the park. Also our midfeild has been overrun sense we sold Kessie, and Benny got injured. Tonali was a huge loss as well, but lets not act like Krunic was any good. I also don’t know how you can call Tiji a defensive liablilty and not RCL. I don’t know what these stats are that you’ve pulled out your ass, but a large amount of fans would argue that he’s been our worst player this season.

          1. I don’t hate him, I want him to succeed but he’s not succeeding with Milan.

Gary Neville is someone who succeeded a lot. Your arbitrary views of his ability are irrelevant.

And this is the thing that people don’t get.

People’s rating players like they’re models is neither here nor there. The only thing that matters is winning. The only players that have proven anything are winners.

These are the standards a club like Milan should be setting.

  32. Such a shame to see Milan fallen from grace and play like mid table club. Long gone are the days of 2000s golden era. But Inter, Juve (not Allegri), Napoli are playing decent in Europe.
Thoughout most summer, great coaches like Conte, De Zebri are available but they chose Fonseca. A cocah is really important. Conte made mid players like Pelle, Gianecherini die for him. Alonso also made a lot Leverkuson players looks superstar.

    1. “Alonso also made a lot Leverkuson players looks superstar.”

Well… We have lots of players looking and acting like superstars. Too bad they don’t perform as one though…

  33. We played decent in preseason. Why dont we start playing some youth like Liberali? Milan really needs a creative midfielder very badly. Maignan injury may be a blessing in disguise and Torriani may step up like Donna. The only thing is will Fonseca give him a chance?

  34. Leao and Theo don’t want to be under this redbird garbage and bang average manager like Fonseca.

We could have signed Hummels or Hermoso for experience and leadership( which we lack) but, nope.

We still run out with RLC who can either bully small teams or play 1 good game against a big club each season, but this guy starts.

I don’t need to say anything about Calabria or Emerson.

Tomori? I don’t want to see him start anymore. He was OK, but that’s all he ever is. No wonder he gets no NT call ups and Newcastle wanted a broken Thiaw over bringing him back to England.

Positives? Abraham and Morata show something but it’s not enough.
Pavlovic needs to work on his passing but will be huge I think .I want to see he and Gabbia starting.

Mike? Thanks for the memories, but I wouldn’t extend him. I’d go with Sportiello (when he is back) and Torrani and then check the markets.

Lastly, Get the F out Moncada and Furlani you slimy little SOBs!

    1. Moncada should be the first to leave. Why? Emerson. F’ng. Royal. That’s enough. Anyone responsible for buying a bag full of sh*t for 15-20M€ should go. There is no justifications for such deal.

  35. Losing is a thing, but getting humiliated is another thing. We dont have answer to Liverpool, and get bully in every aspect. Start losing hope about this Milan. Maybe a draw against inter is considered winning

  36. Sorely Missing a Sporting Director to explain the science of bringing in a quality coach that players want to put out for and signings that fit together with that manager to our management.

Maybe next summer we’ll appoint one?

    1. Agreed. That’s where the problem is. Pointless to pick on individual players. Everyone criticizes calabria, but where is his upgrade? Royal? They bought chuck where saladmaker was there all along and better. They got rid of a $50mil midfielder and got replaced by 3 deadwoods. Got rid of pioli (not a fan of his) and hired someone worse. This management is a joke. Thats what’s worrisome for me honestly. These people have all the wrong ideas on how to build a team and have made all the wrong purchases, it’s not just 1 or 2 bad losses. Dark days ahead, unless cardinale hires a proven, experienced manager that knows how to build a competitive team with milan’s budget. Until then no one should expect much from this team.

  37. We need to do something about our midfield asap.

    I am a bit of a loss.

Fofana was poor against Liverpool losing crucial 50:50 duels.

    Reijnders was a ghost.

RLC cannot play in front of the defence.

    Musah is terrible.

How are we in this position?

If we move to 3 at the back then that might give us some cover.

We then might get away with RLC and Fofana in midfield.

    I’d drop Reijnders.

    Play 343.

  38. AC Milan are playing style is very boring. Changes are needed now to correct the major issues.
    1. Replace Fonseca as a manager coach
    2. Remove ibrahimovic …. he adds no value in his position
    3. Field a team with at least five quality Italian players.

Most Milan players are overrated and cannot take the club to any higher level than the level they are currently at. The team appears to be unmotivated.

  39. After Releasing pulisic to run down the line and score a goal, milan Never did that again the whole game?
you could see cp11 making runs on the right And left side. but Theo specifically would just stop and turn back around and pass back.

  40. Fvck it. Blow this “project” up at the end of the season. Get rid of Leao, sell Mike “Glass” Maignan, sell Chukwueze, sell RLC, sell Tomori, sell Royal, fire Fonseca, fire Furlani, fire “GQ” Moncada. Hire a proper DS, hire a new head scout, hire a coach that uses a 3 CB system and use the money from the sales to build that team.

  41. On what basis did Pulisic and Rafa played 90min. Milan lost to team with better management team, better players and better coach. Squad of 15 to 20million per player compare to club of 40 to Millions per player.

Cardinal will not take Milan anywhere and all the noise about Mocada having eyes for good players is just an hype. I remember how some Milan fans water down Maldini and Mascara just to eulogies this guy.

We need management team that would see sporting results as catalyst for profitability and the other way round.

Look at Milan team in term of quality, not different from Fulham and Florentina.

    1. How’s milan going to be profitable when they play like this?? This is not baseball, where Yankees haven’t won anything for a long time and still make money. At this rate no one will show up in the stadium.

  42. Omo Liverpool played Milan oooo.
They played us real bad. Their attacking, fluidity, defense breaking. They kept up the pressure and made use of the flanks enormously well.

Especially that ibrahima konate. Damn that guy was a deadly threat.

As once again Pulisic proves to be the best signature of last season and this. With the goal and trying to create more.

Fonseca still has a lot of work cut out for him. I seriously dread running into inter, with the way the midfield and defense struggle…

    Forza diavolo
    Forza Rossoneri

  43. Our players clearly need time to blend, despite our expectations. Despite Liverpool’s loss at the weekend, I kept thinking to myself as I watched the game against Nottingham Forest, ‘will Milan be able to cope with the pace’? Our coach tried to block their movements in the middle, but, Liverpool have very good wingers, too, who kept coming at us. I wasn’t disappointed at all. Tonali would have been best to support Fofana, but, we needed the money from his sale. Even Bennacer wouldn’t have been sufficient, if he was available, because he,too, is slow. The coach is showing good signs of tactical prowess, but, our players will have to start adjusting to playing differently. Mike, for me, deserves a lot more credit for his performance. Nothing he could have done about the two goals, with his teammate clearly blocking him from reaching the ball on the first. Two or three months from now, we will be seeing a far better Milan. Patience is key to success.

  44. We were completely utterly fully outmatched tactically, strategically and individually. To be fair this is a completely superior team to us, from every single player (aside one or 2 maybe) to the coach, management, mercato,….
After the first goal, I had hoped we’d play like we did against Tottenham in 2023, when we closed the midfield, stayed tight, composed and while we made it a dull game, we managed to win. But yesterday we choose the worst of both worlds, we didn’t press Liverpool so they were comfortable on the ball, but at the same time, we lost the ball high, failed to close passing options and of course, our horrendous defending in set pieces. And this is on the coach.
Maignan: at the time where we complimented him for his leadership, he had to remind us that he is blunder prone and more importantly, injury prone.
Tomori: I felt like the first goal was partially his fault, but not a disasterous game from him.
Pavlovic: I thaught the point of getting a left-footed CB is that we build up from behind NOT give away free balls to Liverpool. Where did he learn to pass ? At some point Liverpool gave up on pressing him. Also that defending…. At this point maybe we should have not sold Simic and just threw him in the water.
Calabria: Look I defended him a lot, but yesterday was trash. Late on the tackles and failed to motivate his teammates.
Royal: More or less the same as Calabria, but less costly mistakes since the game was already lost.
Theo: Aside from allowing Salah to try to go for a brace and holding the ball too long at times, he wasn’t the worst. Didn’t see him a lot though.
Fofana: My man did everything yesterday. From being late to duals, to losing the ball, to failing to pass correctly. I’m not sure but I think he lost all his duals in the first half. I feel like this is a tradition where the most costly player of each summer window (CDK then Chukwueze and now him) ends up being a failure. Hope he improves, cause we don’t have a choice.
RLC: Did he wear camouflage ? Because I didn’t see him at all yesterday.
Reijnders: Still not leaving up to the hype.
Pulisic: Nice goal, but other than that he was pretty absent as well.
Leao: He did ONE good action in the entire game and instead of passing the ball to one of 3 players who could have scored, he lost it. Typical from him tbh.
Morata: A player like him should lead by example, not by diving and trying to get silly fouls. Aside from the assist, nothing much to note.
Abraham: At some point during the game, I felt like he was the only one trying and believing we can win, too bad it was already sealed at this point.
And we have the derby sunday, great, just great.

    1. I think that sums it up perfectly.
Tis club is nothing short of a f^cking mess.

This is what happens when people without football knowledge put together a group of players as though it is Fifa.
      No consideration for team building.

Imagine only this summer we let Simic go for 3m and Kalulu to Juve, both better than Royale and Pavlovic.

The great Tonali sale has resulted in a pile of sh1t midfielders that make me miss Krunic!

  45. It was game over even before it began. Liverpool has world-class players in every position. Milan has 2-3. But still the most significant difference is/was that Liverpool plays as a team. Everyone is doing their part on the pitch. And they have tactics that everyone follows.

It was a miracle we lost only by 2 goals. It could (should?) have been 1-5 or even more.

  46. Where are all the maggots jerrys funboys these days? All the yankee scums trying to”educate”all the rest to be “positive” when this mf distroyed everything maldini and fazidis manage to build?Where are all these mfs…this pos should sell this club and all the fkin yankees should be banned at sansiro…fkin scums

    1. Maldini build a solid team with pennys. Solid core build with young players for the future. Now these clueless bankers, instead of buildimg on it they destroyed it. If they were going to fire M&M, they should have hired some one better not these scums. As much as maldini was blamed for not selling get-away players, who have these frouds sold? They are all on loan. They sold Tonali only, and bought 3 useless players with that money. They were better off throwing that money out of the window.
